The creaking of the metal door came to a halt and Regina held her breath. The sound of quiet footsteps crept to her door and she wanted to close her eyes, as if it would make it not real and for a moment it stopped. Just as Regina began to release her breath the door knob began to rattle and it opened.
The door revealed a shadowed figure that seemed hunched over.
"Hello?" The figure said and Regina remembered it to be the same voice as before.
"Who are you?" Regina said pushing herself to her feet.
"My name is Matilda, I am one of Zelena's prisoners." She said.
"How long has Zelena kept you down here?" Regina asked curious.
"I've been here longer than anyone, you see, once long ago I was a thief. How do you think I picked that lock?" The woman smiled. "I stole a magical potion from that witch that made me immortal and I have suffered the consequences for countless decades. Little did I know that potion wouldn't keep me young looking like yourself." Matilda explained, causing Regina to curl her lips almost in a smile from Matilda's lightness in speech. She didn't seem upset or dreary about what her life turned out to be.
"I'm sorry..." Regina trailed off still feeling bad for what happened to her.
"There's no time for apologize, I'm going to get you out of here." She smiled.
"What? How?" Regina asked taking a few steps towards the woman.
"Well doors open ain't it?" Matilda said.
Regina let out a smile.
"Now come on." Matilda spoke softly.
Regina walked to where Matilda stood at the door. "Would you mind taking this off? It restrains my magic and the person wearing it can't take it off." Regina asked her.
"Why sure." Matilda said.
Her hands were cold and wrinkled Regina felt as they rapped around her wrist before taking the bracelet off. "Thank you." Regina said taking back the bracelet.
Matilda nodded her head. "Now get out of here."
"Well aren't you coming with me?" Regina asked confused.
"I don't need to leave, I deserve what I'm getting. All my years of being dishonorable and being a thief finally caught up to me." Matilda said full of acceptance. "Plus I wouldn't want to miss out on the look on that bloody witch's face when she finds you missing." She said smiling.
"Thank you again." Regina said.
"You're not gonna have anything to be thankful for if you don't get out of here." Matilda said.
Regina gave her one last smile before turning and running. She passed the same doors as before but soon found she had no idea where to go. Regina began searching every hall and doorway. She kept quiet as she snuck around the wicked witch's castle.
Soon she fell upon a large mahogany door, slowly opening the door she entered. Her eyes graced over the place. It seemed to be an extravagant living room. There was a fire kindling in front of two big leather sofa chairs. At second glance Regina saw one of the chairs wasn't empty, in it laid her sister.
Regina looked back down at the bracelet she carried with her, then back up at the witch. If she could restrain Zelena's powers she couldn't hurt Matilda, or anyone else for that matter.
Slowly Regina crept over to where she laid and saw that she was asleep. She silently walked in front of her, careful not to wake her and slid the cuff over her wrist. With an evil smirk of her own she turned around to leave.
