Regina had forced herself to avoid talking to the Prince for the past week. But she knew she had to talk to him, she had to. Didn't she? She had to make sure he wasn't going to tell anyone about her second melt down in front of him. How had she let herself become so weak in front of him.Not to mention she fell asleep with him and was almost caught. This past week was unbearable for her, always wondering if he had told Snow, second guessing everything she did. But David wouldn't be so stupid as to... No. But if... She just had to make sure.
Regina had decided to go talk to David that day. Snow would be out and about making plans for a ball, for the announcement of Aurora's baby. Regina thought the whole idea was nonsense. It was no time to be doing such foolish things as a ball while there was a wicked witch lurking about, but for now it was helping her.
Regina watched from her balcony as Snow walked off the palace grounds to the market place. Once she was out of sight Regina left the room in search of the Prince.
"David?" She whispered through the halls.
"David?" She asked again.
Turning a corner she ran into no other than the prince of thieves.
"Why hello your majesty." He smirked.
Regina quickly pushed herself off his chest and onto her feet. She could feel his eyes on her and she looked up at him.
"What are you doing?" Regina spat.
"Just walking about. You know I over heard you looking for the Prince, it just so happens I know where he is." Robin said never letting his smirk falter.
"Where is he? It's important." Regina asked almost sounding desperate.
"Last I heard he was going to his room, if I can be of any more of your assistance I'll be in the kitchen." Robin said.
Regina didn't answer the thief. She only turned back around and went to the Prince's chambers. She was slow with her steps. Taking her time. She thought about it over and over before finally reaching his doors.
"David?" She said knocking on the door.
Slowly she creaked open the door, "David?"
She stepped inside the room cautiously. It was lit up by the sun falling through each window on either side of the bed.
Her head quickly jerked to the sound of another door opening across the room. David had walked out from his bath in nothing more than a towel tied around his waist.
Regina gasped, not at the indecency of the prince, but at the unforgettable ink painting on his chest. It couldn't be. It was the exact lion tattoo she had seen so many years ago in that bar.
That's the man. The one your destined to be with. The fairy's words rung in her ears like an old record.
That's why she felt so open around him. She was slowly putting the pieces together. But she was still confused. How could it be David if he was already married. And with his so called True Love. And if he was, what's more powerful True Love or Soul Mates. Or if it even mattered. There was to many things going through her head. To many questions.
"Regina?" David asked shocked. He hadn't seen her since that night he thought she had spent with him.
He saw a look of sadness and fear in the queen. He wanted nothing more then to walk over to her and rap her up in an embrace, and comfort her, let her know that it was alright. Like their night on the couch that seemed to long ago. But he held back. For fear as well. Fear that he thought he was the one to cause her that pain he saw in her eyes.
Regina couldn't get a word out and was suddenly uncomfortable with the silence, she had to leave. Without say she ran out the door hearing David shout her name one last time before he was out of hearing rang.
Fate couldn't be doing this to her again. No. She already missed her chance and she made peace with that.
She didn't have to listen to destiny. She could love who she wanted, when she wanted. As she stormed past the kitchen she caught sight of the thief. She stopped and walked back. She wasn't sure of what she was thinking. Or if she was even thinking at all.
The thief was leaning against the kitchen cabinet eating a pair when he saw the Queen standing in the door way. She truly was a sight to be seen in that tight fitting dress of hers. "So can I be of any more assistance?" He plastered his smirk on his face.
"Actually, yes." Regina said and strutted herself towards the thief. I choose who I want. No one decides my fate but me.
With out warning the Queen pressed her lips on the thief's. He was unprepared but soon followed her lead. Dropping the pair he brought his hand to the back of her head, bringing his other hand to her waist, pulling her closer against him.
It was fast and heated not leaving room for air. The kiss broke off only to begin again when Robin made a move this time.
Taking a shaky breath Regina pulled away resting her forehead on his chest. With deep breaths she stilled herself and closed her eyes.
Robin didn't say anything. He looked down at the bundle of black tresses he had just had his fingers enveloped in, not sure what had just happened or why, but not wanting the moment to end.
Slowly she opened her eyes trying to make since of what she had done. She looked at the hand that was still holding her waist but moved her gaze to his forearm.
She squeezed her eyes shut telling herself it wasn't possible before opening her eyes once more, and once more she found again the same lion tattoo she had just found on the prince.
"You've got to be kidding me!" She said pushing herself up. "This can't be happening again!"
"Regina?" Robin was confused, but he reached out his hand to comfort her.
"Don't!" She said pushing his hand away. "Just stay, away, from, me!" Regina shouted leaving and running to her bed chambers.
"Why, why, why," she said once her doors were shut. She brought her hand to her head trying to sooth the headache forming in the foremost of her head.
This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't. She couldn't deal with fate right now. She couldn't handle destiny with a witch harassing her every move. Why did this have to happen now. Of all times why now!
Regina sat on her bed holding both hands to her head now trying to sort through her thoughts. It was too much to think of at once. She had so many questions. However one question popped through her head no matter how much she tried not to think about it. But she just couldn't help but wander, how?
How was it possible for there to be two of the mysterious lion tattoos. Two different chances of fate.
She knew there was only one person who could answer her questions. And that was the one person who lead her to her destiny in the first place once so very long ago.
Tinker Bell.
