Regina woke late the next morning. She sat up and slid into her slippers. It took her a moment to remember the occurrences of yesterday. She had asked the thief to go with her to the ball, and Zelena had came.

Wait.

The ball, the ball that was today. Regina looked over at her night stand. Forgetting that alarm clocks didn't exist in the enchanted forest. She let out a "Ugh" under her breath and stood up. She was definitely missing the pleasures of living in Storybrooke, not to mention her son.

Her son she reminded herself. The reason she was going to this ball. Pushing past the thought she went to her closet and slipped on one of her less extravagant, more simple dresses and made her way to the kitchen to get something to eat.

She grabbed an apple from the bowl on the cabinet and sat at the table meant for the servants when the royals would eat. She fiddled with the apple before taking a knife to the hard fruit and dragging the knife down, cutting herself a slice. She lifted the knife with the apple slice on it to her lips and bit it off. She really wasn't hungry and couldn't eat much more than the apple.

She was surprised she hadn't run into Snow yet, thinking she would probably be getting ready for the ball tonight. Regina was going to use magic to get ready, it's definitely an easier and quicker way. But she had the time and it would be fun to go threw her closet, maybe find a hidden dress she had forgotten about.

Regina pulled herself back to her bedroom and began to search her closet for the perfect dress. Her final chose being a blue velvet dress that dipped givingly deep in the back. Once she slipped it on she walked to her vanity desk and sat down. She pulled her hair up off her shoulders and up into a loose but elegant bun, now leaving her back bare. Little curls of hair fell around her face, framing it. Then she moved to her make up. She put on her bases first, than coming back over it with a darker tent under her cheek bones and blended it all in. She shaded her eyelids a deep grey that had a hint of sparkles in it. She then reached for the black tube of ink and drew two perfect lines over her eye lids and into a cat eye effect. Afterwards putting mascara on, following with manicuring her eyebrows. With one final touch her lips were painted a deep shade of red.

She looked at the person in the mirror, you can do this. She took a deep breathe and breathed it out staring at her reflection.

A knock sounded at the door and she quickly turned around in her seat to greet who ever it was that was already opening the door.

Snow peeked her head in the door. "It's time-" Snow cut herself off. "Regina, you look beautiful." Snow smiled.

Regina smiled and adverted her eyes to the ground to conceal her blush.

"Come on, let's go." Snow's smile widened.

"Actually, I'm waiting for someone." Her blush grew.

"You are?" Snow said stepping into her room, her cheesy smile still plastered to her face. "May I ask who?"

"It's Robin."

"The thief?" Snow giggled. "Is it safe to say he's stolen your heart?" Snow grinned.

"Get out you dork." Regina smiled with a chuckle.

"Alright, I'll see you there." And with one final cheeky grin Snow was out the door.

Regina let a chuckle slip as she dropped her head. It was getting late, Robin was supposed to be here already. After waiting a while later she thought he wasn't coming. She sighed as she slipped her heels on, and walked towards the door ready to go alone. She wasn't going to let this get her down. Not tonight.
