This was getting harder and harder for Regina. Not only was it getting harder to come up with excuses to avoid the prince it was getting harder to want to make them.
Tomorrow was the day of the ball and she couldn't find the courage to go. She knew it would only hurt her. Seeing her soulmate, well one of them dance with someone else. But where was her right to be hurt by the Prince dancing with his wife. This entire soulmate thing confused her.
That reminded her; Robin. He really was a nice guy, even if she did catch him glancing at places he shouldn't be looking at. Not to mention his little boy. He had stolen her heart the moment she saw him. He reminded her so much of Henry. Of course it was when Henry was younger, before he believed her to be the Evil Queen that she was.
Maybe she should give this thief a chance. Plus it would be a lot easier to go to a ball with someone then go all alone.
Regina looked out of her chambers looking left than right before stepping out making sure there was no sign of David. Once the coast was clear she made her way to where she knew Robin and his band of merry men were staying. Robin had a separate room just to the right of his men to have more space for him and his boy.
Hesitatingly Regina held her knuckles above the door. What was she doing she asked herself. She couldn't just ask the thief out. Could she?
She shook herself, metaphorically shaking her jitters off and took a deep breath. Squeezing her eyes shut she lifted her hand back up to the door.
She held it there for a while but still she did not knock.
She cursed herself under her breath. She took two quick little jumps and shook her hands. "Okay," she said looking at the door and raised her fist once more.
But before she could hit the door it opened. "Regina?" Asked the curios thief.
"Rob-"
"Regina!" A little voice piped up from behind Robin.
Roland popped up in front of Robin now and gave Regina a hug that only reached to her upper legs.
"Why hello, Roland." Regina said bending down to give Roland a proper hug.
Robin looked down at the two and smiled, he loved how happy Regina made Roland.
"You came to see us!" Roland cheered letting go of his queen.
"I did, I have a question for your father." Regina smiled at the boy.
"What is it?" The boy asked just as curios as his father.
"Well," Regina said glancing up at Robin then back to Roland. "Come here." She said still smiling. The boy followed her instructions and Regina whispered something in his ear.
The boy took a step back, his face shocked with a O shaped expression and an exasperated gasp sound escaping his lips. "Really!" His face lit up with a wide smile.
Regina smiled back at the boy, he had a way of doing that to her. Making her smile. She nodded her head. "Don't ask him till I leave and Roland," she said and finished the rest in a whisper. "Make sure he says yes."
The boy nodded his head vigorously and Regina left closing the door behind her. I must be crazy she thought.
"Papa, papa!" Roland cheered pulling on his fathers cloak.
"What is it?" Robin asked.
"The Queen wants to go to the ball tomorrow with you!" Roland said.
"She does," Robin said taken aback.
"Mmhmm." Roland nodded his head.
Robin quickly opened the door again. "Regina- I mean your majesty!" He called stopping her in her steps and she turned around to face him.
