I do not own Naruto or any of its characters. I do own my OC which will be revealed shortly.
???'s P.O.V.
I leapt from branch to branch, silver hair swaying back and forth with my movements.
A painfully bright green blob flipped alongside me in the corner of my eye, throwing his arms into the air with a huge grin.
"Must you be so energetic?" I said lazily.
"The power of youth fuels me!" He cheered, enticing a wince from me.
For added affect, he swung himself around a branch in a complete circle before landing gracefully in a clearing.
I sighed.
Missions with him were always a pain.
At least all we have left is to report to the Hokage. He had stopped, his face hard in concentration as he searched the area.
"What are you doing?" I questioned lazily, landing silently beside him.
"Something's here," he said dramatically, sounding unusually serious.
I noticed it then, a small amount of chakra.
About the amount of a child's.I followed the trail till I came across a small pale leg protruding from a bush.
I cautiously approached, kunai drawn.
"What is it Kakashi?" my companion called from behind.
The man in green peered over my shoulder."A body," I said ominously.
He shuddered, assuming the worst.
I crouched and gently pulled the small child out of the bush, bringing them into the open.
They were clutching a beautiful kimono to their chest as if it were their life.
But the thing that had me most concerned,
was the dried blood that flaked from their cheeks and clothes."Looks like a little girl..." He breathed, gazing in awe,
"Couldn't be more than five years old..."Putting away the weapon, I checked her pulse, a steady beat pulsing beneath my fingers.
I released a breath I hadn't realised I'd been holding.
"Guy?" I said.
The green shinobi tore his eyes away from the fragile being curled around the elegant fabric.
"Yes Kakashi?" He replied.
"We need to get her back to the village and report to the Hokage."
He nodded and picked her up gently, the girl's grip seemed to tighten on the clothing in her grasp.
We made our way through the trees swiftly, all the while Guy watched the girl closely.
"Poor thing looks exhausted, how long do you think she's been out here?" Guy said distantly.
I shook my head solemnly,
"I don't know."The huge gates of Konoha began to come into view as our pace quickened.
We stopped by the gates as they inched open.
Strolling through the crowds, we make our way to the hospital for a checkup before taking her to The Third.
The nurse looked her over as delicately as she could, the whole thing ten times harder as she refused to release the kimono from her death grip.
"Everything alright? Is the blood hers?" I pondered.
I had left Guy outside the room as he was beginning to get hysterical.
"Yes, she's fine and no, the blood doesn't seem to be from her..."
the nurse replied,
"it's seems she collapsed from exhaustion, she must have been travelling for days..."I nodded, leaving with the girl in my arms.
As I exited, Guy jumped me, bombarding me with frantic questions,
"Is she alright?! Is she going to be okay?! What did the nurse say?!! Has she got pneumonia? Hypothermia? Diabetes?!!!"I sighed, raising an eyebrow as he continued to name possible extreme conditions she might have,
'how could he possibly be so attached already?'"She's fine, just exhausted" I said.
Suddenly, the girl's eyes slid open cautiously, revealing beautiful pastel blue and pink orbs.
The colours seemed to mix in her eyes yet stay separate at the same time, a sash of pink around a sea of blue, but sun-bleached and faded.
Her entire body seemed bleached, I thought.
Pale skin, short white hair and
pastel coloured blue and pink eyes. But she seemed anything but drained of colour, radiating energy, glowing.
She looked at me, child-like curiosity but wise caution covering her face.
"It's okay," I cooed.
She shifted in my arms.
"May I walk please?" She said, barely above a whisper.
Her voice was young get her words seemed strangely mature.
I gently placed her down, her legs shaking slightly.
The stunned silence from Guy was short lived as he bombarded her with questions.
"What were you doing in the forest? Where are you from? Where are your family?"The girl looked frantic and overwhelmed as I sweatdropped at Guy's lack of tact.
"Give her some space, Guy.
She's obviously distressed," I said wisely."Ah, s-sorry," Guy muttered.
The girl gazed at me curiously, still clutching that kimono.
"Where am I?" She said nervously.
She tilted her head in an adorable way as she said this, eyes bright and trusting.
'So cute' I thought.
"Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves." I stated.
The girl thought for a moment before nodding, "Okay..."
"May we take you to see the Hokage? If that's alright with you..." I said cautiously.
"What's a 'Hokage'?" She said energetically.
"The leader of our village," I explained,
"The strongest ninja."She nodded, eyes wide with awe.
"Alright, this way," I instructed, beginning to walk.
Guy lagged behind, his head hung like an injured puppy, obviously still dying to interrogate her.
As we made our way, she spoke again.
"Um... By the way...
I''m a boy.""I see...
...
Wait...
What?!"
