Tsunami's P.O.V

'Who the heck is Zabuza?'

I rose an eyebrow and pouted as everyone else had jaws dropped and sweat gleaming on their faces.
'Whoever he is, he must be pretty scary from the looks of it.'

"WHAT-
THE-
HECK-
Are you talking about?!!!"
Screamed the short orange one.

"But, master Kakashi- you checked to be sure Zabuza was dead, didn't you?!!"
Screamed the loud pink one.

"I made sure of it...
But...
A death-like trance could have created a very convincing illusion of the real thing..."
Said the shady pervert.
(I'd discovered his 'book' by chance.)

Perv's eye drifted to
THE ADORABLE FLUFFY PRI--
*ahem* Aki-chan,

"And the weapon he used..."

"Can be deadly..." finished my future-daughter,
"If they hit a vital spot.
If not, as I said, the fatality rate is far too low... Acupuncture needles were originally designed for medical purposes, you see."

Perv nodded in acknowledgement,
"Shinobi hunters and all members of any village's corpse disposal squad must possess an intimate and thorough knowledge of human philology.
It would be simple for one of them to place a person into a near-death state."

One of my eyes narrowed and my top lip rose in a 'duh' expression as all of this went over my head.
'Do they really need to explain everything?! This is making my brain boil...'

"First of all, the masked boy went to the trouble of lugging off Zabuza's heavy carcass..." Explained Perv cynically.

"Secondly," Aki-chan continued,
"The acupuncture needles he used as weapons, while potentially deadly, can also be used to inflict non-mortal injury..."

"These two points suggest that the kid's objective was to give the illusion of killing Zabuza...
While he rescued him.
Things may be just the way they seemed... But we have to consider the other possibility."

"Aren't you just complicating things by over-thinking them? Shinobi hunters are supposed to hunt outlaw shinobi, right?" Said my old man, dismissively.

I pouted with my eyes narrowed, 'it's you're life on the line, Baka! You should be glad they're paying such attention to detail... It might save you...'

I sighed, worry about my father's life seeping into my thoughts.

"Uuuuusually," the Perv said strangely,
"But ignoring something that smells this fishy is a great first step...
To be caught completely unprepared.
And preparation is a shinobi's most important skill!!"

I looked at the young ninja once more, analysing them.
'I don't think these hot-headed youngsters are all about detailed preparation and planning if you ask me... Except my daughter of course.(S)he's perfect, obviously.'

I started to get lost in daydreams of all the mother-daughter bonding we could do, but I came out of my trance to see the orange one shivering.
Yet it was a strange shiver, like a puppy wagging its tail in excitement.

"Oh well! Whether Zabuza is dead or alive...
There may still be more and even deadlier ninja in service of your enemy, Gatô," said Perv cheerfully.
