Aki's P.O.V.
"Name please?" The reception lady drawled, boredom clearly evident on her sharp features.

"Aki Furasshu, ma'am," I answered, barely containing my excited squeals.

'I'm finally here! Ninja academy! Whoop!' I mentally cheered.

She looked over some paperwork for an agonising 2 minutes before looking up again.

"Room 65," she said bluntly before going back to reading a small orange book.

I paused to sweatdrop at the receptionist's poor attitude but I began briskly walking down the hall in a matter of seconds, anxiously scanning room numbers until I happened upon the room.

I stood staring at the door.

'This is it. I am about to meet my class and possible future teammates...
...
Well, here goes nothing...'

Quickly opening the door, the class fell silent as I peered through the threshold.

A tall man with dark brown hair and a thick scar running across his nose turned to me in surprise before realisation washed over his face.

"Hello, would I be correct in assuming you're the new student?" he said with a surprisingly higher pitch than I expected.

Too anxious to speak, I merely nodded in response.

"Well, come on in," he said, smiled warmly.

I stepped through the door way cautiously, turning my head slightly to gaze at my classmates from the corner of my eye.

There was an... Interesting variety of students before me.

As I reached the centre, I turned to face them fully, taking in the numerous faces,
scanning for one in particular...

In one corner I spotted a sleeping boy with pineapple shaped hair.
Not him.

I then saw a smirking boy with a puppy on his head and red triangles on his cheeks.
Not him.

Then there was the boy with hair like a duck's butt, the boy with black glasses and a high collar on his jacket, the chubby boy with red swirls in his cheeks.
None of them...

There were a few strange looking girls aswell:
the pink-obsessed girl, the pale blonde and the shy-looking girl who desperately avoided my gaze.
But I wasn't looking for them either.

Nearing the end of my scan of the classroom, my eyes locked onto a seat at the very front.

And there he was.

In all his vibrant orange glory, he sat on the front desk with his goofy grin and whiskered cheeks.

I couldn't help myself, I smiled.

"Would you like to introduce yourself?" Queried the brunette who I assume was our sensei.
"My name's Iruka by the way," he added quickly.

I took a deep breath, steeling my nerves.

"My name is Aki Furasshu and I'll be joining your class for the remainder of our ninja education.
I hope I'll be able to get to know all of you better in these short two weeks," I breathed, bowing respectfully.

The room was silent and I could feel the many questions balancing on the tip of every tongue of every curious student who now pierced me with their intense stares.

"Thank you for introducing yourself and I'm sure you'll fit in very well with this class,"
Iruka chirped, smiling again,
"why don't you go sit down and we'll continue with class."
