Sasuke's P.O.V
The boat bumped gently against the dock, swaying with the current of the river.
I was about to shake Aki awake from his 'nap' when Kakashi signalled me away.
I knew full well that it was more than just fatigue from his injuries.
The way his eyes had swam with sickness every time the boat lurched was proof.
'This guy's pathetic.
Low pain threshold and travel sickness!
Then again- although I'll never admit it out loud-
he did do alright in the fight before...'I watched, seemingly uninterested, as Kakashi began to pick him up to carry him.
As soon as they stepped off the boat Aki's eyes snapped open and he gripped Kakashi's arm, asking with his eyes to be let down.
Kakashi did so and placed him gently on his feet.
He glared at me quickly before walking to the end of the dock and kneeling by the edge.
'Is he going to hurl?!
Ugh, no way, not watching that,' I mentally gag."I'm not gonna throw up genius," he spat, mockingly.
'Ugh, there he goes with his 'mind-reading' again.'
I rolled my eyes, "whatever."
Aki ignored me and suddenly dunked his head under the water,
'what the hell is he doing?'As he emerged he swung his head so that excess water sprayed into the air-mostly hitting me.
I looked at the water dripping down my shirt and rose an eyebrow, unimpressed.
He glanced back smirking with water running in rivulets down his face.
'Sneaky bastard...
He did it on purpose!'"If you're gonna shake yourself off like the dog you are, do it somewhere else," I grumbled but smirked at the same time.
He just stuck his tongue out for a few seconds then continued to shake his head of the excess water, although not trying to aim it at me anymore.
"Okay! Now I'm awake! What's going on?!" He suddenly exclaimed, full of energy.
I sweatdropped.
"This is as far as I go," said the boatman,
"take care of yourself," he added, although I wasn't convinced he really meant it."Thanks.. For taking such a risk.
I shouldn't have asked it," called Tazuna, but the boat had already set off at full speed. We began walking down the road calmly.
"I'm guessing that's a no for an explanation then?" Aki said.
Kakashi sighed, "nothing of importance has happened for you to be worried about Aki.
We're still escorting Tazuna to his home then protecting him during the construction of the bridge."He looked confused,
"Oh? So no other ninja's have turned up yet?" He asked, curiously.Kakashi looked surprised.
"What makes you think that?" He replied, just as curiously.
"Well, Gatô's bound to send another, higher level assassin after Tazuna when he realises the other's failed," he said slowly, as if explaining to a child.
Kakashi looked slightly shocked then appeared to swell with what looked like... Pride?
"You read my mind," he said, smiling a closed eye smile.
