A:N// sorry about the late chapter this week, I've been a bit busy lately :'(
Anyway, I posted a chapter a short while ago and no seems to have gotten the notification about it so if you wanna just scroll back and check it's called 'thirty seconds'.
That's all for now, hope you're enjoying the story ;)Kiba's P.O.V.
I stared at the panel Aki just fell through with a sweatdrop.
'That Baka...'
With a sigh I petted my companion, feeling the difference of air pressure in the room now that he was gone.
'Great, now I'm bored...'
I smelled the air once again, brows furrowed.
'This stench of lilies... It's similar to Aki's, but his scent is much more subtle and soothing... Whereas this scent is overpowering and harsh.
The air is stagnant with it, like a thick smog... And it's all coming from whatever is in that... Thing.'In all honesty, the figure of the sleeping woman sent shivers down my spine.
Some might perceive her appearance to be peaceful, but I see it to be a mask, hiding the depressing truth of death.
Akamaru and I spent the next twenty or so minutes springing the traps, clearing the area for when the others would arrive.
And it wasn't long before the ground shifted and Izumi emerged from it.
Clawing the air with mud-caked hands, she pulled herself from the depths of the dungeon and into the final arena.'Why do I always find her mud-style so disturbing...' I thought to myself, grimacing as she seemed to crawl from the earth like the undead.
Once she had stood up straight and started to brush the dirt off her clothes, I mock saluted,
"This is Baa-San reporting for duty, captain!"She grinned at me, pleased that her team was finally giving into her crazy ways.
She closed her eyes and concentrated, sending her special chakra humming through her body.
The mud that covered her skin filtered off and back to the earth, leaving her complexion flawlessly clean."What's the status, soldier!?" She said with a gruff, mocking tone, mimicking my own.
I pointed dramatically towards the statue in the centre of the room, back straight and joints stiff,
"It is highly likely that this here sarcophagus is the item we seek!"Izumi nodded thoughtfully, a finger on her chin as she gazed at the object.
"Hmm... In all seriousness... How the hell are we gonna carry that thing out??""Now that you mention it, it is strange that all the other treasures are in scrolls whilst this one is so big..." I mumbled.
As we inspected the object, the rest of the team arrived.
Lee flipped into the room from behind a sliding stone door, fists raised and ready for a challenge.
And finally, two red-faced individuals shuffled in with their heads hung.
'Hm?'
I smelled the air, analysing their scent.
I smirked,
"Ooooooohohohohohoho.... I know what you've been up toooooo~~" I sung to them slyly. They reeked of each other, covered in the other's scent.
They both looked up wide-eyed, whirling their heads towards the rest of the team.
They hadn't heard our conversation.
