Aki's P.O.V
It all went black.
I just couldn't stay conscious a moment longer, but I'm wasn't worried, I knew my team will protect me.
I started to see fuzzy images manifest in front of my eyes.
'Hm... I must be having some kind of dream...'
...
..."-I....-Ki... Aki... Aki!"
A long slender arm grasped mine before I could fall off the steep cliff.
I was pulled into something warm and soft.
"Don't do that! Silly child," chided my mother.
"Gomenasai, mummy," I said dejectedly, tears flowing down my chubby cheeks.
"Hush.~" she soothed, stroking my fluffy white locks,
"It's okay, Aki."I smiled into the warmth, snuggling deeper.
"I miss you mummy..."
My mother pulled back and smiled goofily at me,
"But I'm right here!~"For some reason those words stung, exposing a deep ache in my chest.
...
"No... You left..."
...No longer was I embraced by my mother.
Instead my wide, youthful eyes opened to red.
Her warm embrace was replaced by a lukewarm liquid, and a cold weight above me."M-Mummy?"
Her body shielded me, covering me with her torso. She wasn't moving.
...
"No... No!.. NO!
I don't want to see this!!"
..."Mummy... Wake up... You're crushing me..."
I crawled from beneath her with much effort, and began to shake her furiously.
"Wake up... Wake up!... WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!
WAKE UP!
MUMMY!!"I screamed and screamed, tears streaming down my face.
...
"What was it!? What were you protecting me from?! Please...
Mummy..."
...My small feet stumbled over each other,
running,
Running,
Running...
Holding mother's kimono tight to my chest,
the red had swallowed the beautiful lilies...
The red had suffocated mummy...
The red had covered my small hands...My vision was blurry, from tears and exhaustion.
My feet were cut and sore, my hair was dirty and filled with twigs.
The light was fading... And the ground was all too keen to leap up and embrace me...
I was swallowed by blackness...Through the murkiness of my mind, I could hear muffled voices.
"What is it Kakashi?"
"A body..."
