"This would be your room," Alpha Wyatt said, summoning me to the last door down the hall of their large house. We walked in comfortable silence although deep down, I was bursting with excitement. This was anything more than I'd imagined. "I hope this is comfortable enough for you," he said. The door opened, revealing a large beige room. I noticed there was another door. "That's your personal bathroom," he explained, pointing to the same door I was staring at. I nodded in response with a wide smile plastered on my face. "Well, that's it for now. I guess I'll see you in the morning."

"Goodnight Alpha," I replied timidly and he slipped in a brief smile before closing the door behind him. I sat on the edge of the bed, running my hands against the thick mattress, already sighing in content from the warm feeling the soft material gave me. Things were starting to look up.

After slipping into my nightgown, I opened the bathroom door out of curiosity. The walls were a cold white colour with a large matching tub and glass sink. There were also beige rugs and a small vase filled with white lilies that gave the room a pleasant smell. It was simple yet beautiful. It was similar to my bathroom at home. He apparently tried to personalise everything for me to feel more accustomed.

Morning light flooded through the faint curtains and into the room. My excitement grew stronger than it was the night before. I quickly slipped into some grey sweatpants and a dark brown sweatshirt. I made sure my special gold necklace was showing. It was a piece of jewelry my mom gave me that I never took off.

I pulled on a pair grey of Vans slip-on, also brushing my hair into a ponytail that ended on my shoulders. I never liked my hair long. I opened my bedroom door and entered the hallway, gazing left and right, wondering which direction to take. I took a lucky guess and turned left. There was a lot of art stuck on the walls. Most of them seemed antique. The Alpha didn't seem like someone who appreciated art. It must have been someone else in the family.

I walked down the hallway, stopping dead in my tracks when one of the doors opened slightly with a creak. I froze. The door opened wide, revealing a disheveled Gabriel. He yawned and rubbed his sleepy eyes before they landed on me.

"Sam?" he questioned with a frown, scratching his head.

"Uh, hi?" I replied, feeling awkward. He was completely shirtless, and his pair of shorts rode a little beneath his hips all at once giving me a view of his toned abs and 'V' line.

"Wha- Let me just get dressed," he mumbled. "Stay." He held up a finger. Within a lapse of five minutes, he was out the door with fresh clothes, his sandy brown hair still a mess, but still presentable nonetheless.  We began to walk side by side for a few minutes in silence until he decided to break it.

"Did you have any idea where you were going?" he asked.

"Nope," I laughed nervously. "I was just trying to find your father." He laughed a bit before speeding up a bit, prompting me to follow until we came to the end of the hall.  The kitchen and living room came into view. Gabriel led me into the kitchen and we were both greeted by a woman who looked similar to him. She had the same brown hair and light brown eyes that stood out from every other feature on their face.

"Oh, you must be Samantha," the woman smiled once she noticed me. I gave a light wave, unsure what to do with myself. Just then, Alpha Wyatt strutted into the room.

"Good morning," he said and gave the woman a peck on her cheek. Hmm... Gabriel's mom, I thought. The Luna only appeared publicly on special or critical occasions. I never remembered what she looked like. "I have a very busy day planned ahead, so I'll lead you to our top trainer." Gabriel frowned in confusion. He followed us outside into the fields nonetheless.

Alpha Wyatt led us to a small group of men who were assembled in the grass doing some warm-ups. They acknowledged our presence by standing at attention once the Alpha stood before them.

"This is Samantha," he announced, nudging me forward. "She'll be training with you from now on. I have high expectations of her, so bring out the best you can." He locked eyes with mine before heading back to the house.

"Welcome aboard Samantha," one of them said. "I'm Smith, and I'm sure you'd get to know the others later on." I nodded in response, trying to look brave, although fear was bubbling in the pit of my stomach.  He led me further back. "You're going to have to train harder than the rest of us, to get your human side as good as our inner wolves," he explained. I almost grimaced but didn't want to give him the wrong impression.

I wanted to make a change in how people viewed me and Alpha Wyatt had given me a chance to achieve that goal. I noticed Gabriel staring from the corner of my eyes. Smith summoned me and we all began walking across the field.

"The Alpha informed me that you possessed the personality best suited for a trained killer."

"Personality?" I asked baffled. What the fuck?

"No feelings of remorse whatsoever," Smith explained. "Apathy." My eyes widened of how he thought of me. I did have feelings, I just never showed them to people I didn't know or trust. Then again, I barely had close friends, so the majority of the population probably viewed me that way. Is that how he wanted me to remain? I thought this program was for the betterment of my individual.

"Am I being trained to assasinate people?" I asked bluntly, causing Smith to freeze and glare at me.

"She didn't mean it that way," Gabriel quickly defended. Smith narrowed his eyes. How would he know what I meant? I frowned in his direction, but his stare was trained on Smith.

"Samantha, we don't train people to kill without a conscious," Smith explained rather curtly. "We train them to defend themselves to the best of their abilities, so much that they'd be capable of defending the pack. I expect you to keep that in mind." I blinked, not sure how to respond to his scowl.

"Of course," I eventually presumed. I was looking forward to learning whatever new tactics they were offering. Hopefully, he wasn't anything like Murphy.
