Sorry for taking such a long time, but here it is!

I blinked, the deafening silence, growing louder and louder. I swallowed, relishing the sound it made as it traveled down my throat. What did he just say? It was so silent that all I could hear was my own harsh breathing. This changed everything, didn't it? The cruel man's grin widened.

He was having the time of his life making this confusing realization a hell for me. If my father wasn't my mother's mate, then what had their life together come to? Of course, he was entitled to meet someone else, and not feel any guilt if he acted on his feelings. And the result would be the same for my mom. And yet, she made it seem like she cared about him so much. Derek cleared his throat to get my attention. He seemed void of any emotion at the moment. So unpredictable.

"Are you busy putting two and two together? You seem like a smart person," he commented. I had no idea what he was talking about. He rolled his eyes. "This is where Gabriel's mom comes in." My eyes bulged out as I turned to watch Gabriel. He looked just as astonished as I was. But at the same time, he looked like he was going to lunge at Derek, just for insinuating that.

"That can't be," I replied, although I wasn't too confident with my own answer. Were they having an affair? I asked myself. Derek shrugged nonchalantly.

"You always expect the best out of your parents, then that's when they slip up. It's hard to believe," he stated. "I'm telling you the truth Samantha. And as a result of their little rendezvous, Wyatt sent both of them away." A chill ran down my spine as I actually considered believing him. All those taunting phrases and sinister smirks had ceased. Derek was serious. Gabriel, however, wasn't backing off.

"And what does all of this have to do with you?" he seethed at the middle-aged man. Derek raised an eyebrow.

"Everything." He reluctantly got up from his sitting position, stretching his limbs, and then walking past us. "Wyatt was troubled so much, that a tiny disagreement, cost us our friendship. And as a result, he cut off all my ties with the alliances that we made together." Derek clenched his fists at his side. "I considered us brothers. And he's living the good life over there, while I'm struggling with my pack. Sending amateurs like you," Derek's eyes snapped to me. "To spy on me." He shrugged carelessly as if all he said, didn't matter. "I want to destroy this pack, that would have never existed if I didn't play my part."

Hey guys, I know this is terribly short, but after successfully completing my exams, and passing with flying colors, I've gotten accepted into a college, and the workload is really heavy. So this is all I can do for now. Please bear with me. Don't forget to comment and vote!
