I stooped behind the bushes, peering through the small gaps between the branches, trying my best to keep my breath still. I started walking, in a crouched position, my feet crushing the small twigs that laid about on the ground. Eventually, I came upon a fence, a wired fence with barbwire on top. I frowned, confused as to why they'd put barbwire on top of the fence. To seal the territory from wolves? Wolves could have easily jumped over that without trying.

"Bird to eagle. I repeat, bird to eagle," a voice said into my earpiece. I rolled my eyes with a chuckle.

"What's with the stupid code names?" I laughed, continuing my journey down the small footpath that ran along the fence. It was evident that the guards usually made their rounds near here.

"Aye! My names are not stupid," Smith defended on the other line. "By the way, when you finish run along the fence, you'll come upon some sort of entrance." I nodded, even though he couldn't see me, and as he said, I did come upon 'some sort of entrance'. It was wide, lots of space with a long circular bar blocking the entrance for vehicles.

There was a small booth with two uniformed men looking out for intruders, like myself. I decided against making a bold appearance and instead took a detour through the hedges, avoiding getting caught from their flashlights as they scanned the open area. The darkness of the night, thanks to clouds blocking the moon, was on my side.

"Sam? What are you doing? They're humans!" Smith yelled into my ears. "Take them out!" He had sight of what I was seeing because of the contacts I wore were actually small cameras.

"Take them out? I thought I was going to get some verification and then get out," I whispered harshly. "Besides, I'm already in." I walked onto the compound, hiding behind a large truck as a jeep passed by with men and crates. There were many small buildings around a large factory with several vehicles parked outside.

"The whole thing seems to be part of the industry," I whispered. I pulled out a small camera and began taking pictures.

"Sam, we need you to get a closer look," Alpha Wyatt replied, startling me. I wasn't expecting him to be part of the expenditure.

"Yes sir," I replied and crouched down a bit further, crawling on all fours. I doubted there were any wolves around because if they were, they would have smelled my presence. Soon, I got to the back door of the factory and pulled it open with a loud screech. Once I was sure no one heard, I entered the facility, coming upon a flight of stairs.

I pulled out my knife, cautiously walking up the stairs, a bit frightened by the lights that flickered above my head. It was a bit puzzling that these people had such bad security. Had no one noticed me coming inside? Or was I that good...

Eventually, I approached the top which led to a wide circular balcony, overlooking all the operations that were going on at the bottom. I gasped, placing a hand over my mouth as I gazed down at the horrid processes. There were humans being strapped to beds, some with horns, others with tails, and ragged teeth. I didn't even know what I was looking at.

"Are you seeing this?" I asked in a brittle voice.

"What the-" Smith commented.

"Just as I suspected, but they're not wolves. Sam, you'll need to destroy this," Alpha Wyatt demanded.

"But sir-"

"Just destroy their research. It'll send them a message." I took a deep breath but nodded nonetheless. I looked to the side, spotting another flight of stairs that led to the human experiments. I quickly proceeded, leaning against a wall once a dark-haired woman passed chatting on a cellular device, not even acknowledging my obvious presence.

As soon as she was out of sight, I quickly advanced towards the nearest, most vulnerable person I could get, but was interrupted as a loud voice echoed through the walls.

"Attention workers!" it said. I looked up, frowning once I realized it was a sandy-haired boy, about the same age as Gabriel, but he looked more developed. I hid near an oxygen tank, narrowing my eyes at the sly smile he held on his face. "I'm so proud of all you've done," he continued.

If I wanted to leave a message, maybe he'd be a good way to get their attention, I thought. He seemed like he was the leader, and maybe if their leader was gone, there'd some kind of confusion, or so I hoped. I developed a plan quickly as he spoke relentlessly. I grabbed the oxygen tank, throwing it to the nearest empty bed, remembering that I was only supposed to destroy information.

Within a matter of seconds, there was a huge commotion as all the workers looked at the tank, trying to figure out where it came from. This enabled me to make a run for the stairs that led to the upper balcony. The boy was leaning over the railing, peering down on the commotion. I made a quick decision to injure him, just slightly. I crept up the stairs, holding my breath as I crouched near the last step and pulled an arrow from my back-pouch and aimed at the boy, making sure I pulled the string the all the way back.

"You wouldn't dare," he calmly stated without looking back. I frowned. He turned around with an evil smirk present on his face. "You don't have the balls."

"Um, well, I don't believe that applies to me," I replied. He cocked his head to one side, talking two steps towards me, and I on the other hand, took two steps back.

"What? Are you scared?" he taunted. "I mean, you passed my security guards, crept into my warehouse and made a mess out of my work, and now, you're scared?"

"A mess? It was just one tank."

"Samantha... get out of there, he's a wolf," Smith sounded in my ears. I somehow had already figured that out. Why would a human be in charge of all the mess downstairs? But I was losing confidence right there and then.

"What'd your little friend tell you?" the wolf smirked. I wanted to slap it off his face, only if it didn't result in me dying.

"He said to go suck a dick," I spat.

"I did not say that!" Smith barked.

The boy narrowed his eyes, and in a flash, I was pinned on a wall by my neck, gasping for air. How many freaking Murphy's existed in this world? One, and others just loved to dangle me by my neck.

"Listen, little girl," he growled in my ears. "And listen carefully. I don't like to play games with puny humans like you. If I were to guess that you stumbled here, that'd be different." He chuckled darkly. "But that's clearly not the case. I can't have rumors about this place being spread. So I'll just kill you."

"Well guess what."

"What?"

"I'm not a human," I replied, and sent my foot forward, connecting with the sensitive spot between his legs with the most force I could. He went down with a grunt, groaning in pain while I quickly pulled out my gun, making sure there was some space between us. He eventually looked up, smiling when he saw the gun in my hands. He didn't even utter a word as he got up, wobbling, still holding his crotch.

"You'll regret you ever did that," he said, staggering towards me. "I'll make you pay-" He ran, top speed, but my finger slipped and allowed the bullet to exit the gun and leave a bright red spot in the middle of his forehead. I took deep breaths, tears in my eyes as the gun fell to the floor.

"Smith, I killed him," I cried. "I kill him!"

That was not supposed to happen.
