"At the beginning of the training program, we made it very clear that the skills being taught, were not to be used against others for 'fun'". Smith nostrils flared as he glowered at me. I crossed my arms, feeling nothing but peeved. Stupid muscleman who thought he knew everything. Ever since that mission, he just had it out for me.
"She started it," I replied wearily. It was about the fifth time I told him that and he still disregarded me, continuing his speech that even he seemed bored at.
"She started it?" Smith replied, his eyes wide. "Sam, you could have killed her, even if she started it." He mimicked my voice miserably, but he was dead serious. I scoffed at his reaction.
"I could have killed her? I'm a puny 'human' and I almost killed a teenage werewolf. How reasonable." The sarcasm dripped from my tone. "I watched a tape, a live feed of that bastard killing my mother in cold blood, and did you know what I went to do after that? I took a walk, a damn walk to calm my mind and she, she just came at like she didn't have a fucking life to live!"
"Watch your mouth!" Smith growled.
"I'll watch my mouth when you start to make sense," I seethed. I didn't even wait for his response as I stormed out of the room, into the backyard, falling unto the grass with a cry. Paige was right. Maybe if I did let out my emotions fully, I'd not have come down so hard on Louise. And what bothered me, was that I liked what I did to her; I didn't feel a bit of remorse.
The grass was damp, evident that it did rain. I liked the cold feeling, it mirrored the soul I possessed. I spread my arms out, fiddling the grass with my fingertips, looking up to the starry sky. I always marveled at the way they seemed so close to Earth, yet they were so far away.
"Sam?" said a disembodied voice. I peered up, my eyes meeting with the brown orbs of Gabriel. I hadn't spoken to him ever since that dreadful moment of my life. He never attempted to reach out to me either. "Are you okay?" I rolled my eyes.
"What do you think?" I scoffed. He looked down, seeming hesitant to even sit next to me. I didn't blame him. I wasn't exactly the approachable person at the moment. I sighed, feeling a bit guilty, forcing out the most reassuring smile I could and patted a spot next to me. He hesitated a bit, as he quietly crossed his legs on the spot. He didn't say anything at first, staring off into the distance with a stolid look.
"How are you holding up?" he asked, glancing in my direction. I looked down at my fingers, picking at them.
"I'll get through," I sighed. "I have Paige and Dale coming over to check on me, so-"
"Dale can't come over anymore," he interrupted calmly. I looked over at him with narrowed eyes with a questioning look.
"Why?" I asked. He shrugged nonchalantly.
"My father said that he'd be interrupting the mission process that'd be going on for the next week."
"Mission?"
"We're planning on avenging your mother's death." My eyes widened, air escaping from my lips as I struggled for something to say. "It's the most we can do for you." He kept on saying 'we' as if he was a part of the whole thing. Even if he was the Alpha's son, I could have never imagined him fighting. He was too soft for that.
"Gabriel," I began.
"Don't underestimate me," he replied before I could say anything further. "You don't have to join this one... at this point, I don't recommend you do. Your anger would only help you in killing, but it won't help in your staying calm and collected." I shook my head, disagreeing with him.
"I'm coming whether you like it or not. So fill me up on the details."

"So, the key thing for you, is that anytime you see the enemy, you pretend they're Louise and kick the hell out of them," Murphy laughed. I was actually surprised that the Alpha had called him up, to help Smith carry out the team with his record when he lost his temper, or rather his mind. Couldn't say I was any different.
"That's not funny," I snapped, angry that he'd not taken the initiative to be quiet while we waited for the team to be contacted. We were currently standing in the main meeting room in the Alpha's house.
"Okay, how about this. Picture them as every girl in your school; I think all the girls at your school hate you so..."
"Would you shut up."
Smith growled lowly, passing a hand over his face slowly as he glared at Murphy with dangerous eyes. I suppose he had enough of his crude jokes. I think everyone did by now with the expression on their faces that etched their annoyance. Eventually, the Alpha came in, with two maps in his hands. He spread them out on the table, using medium pegs to hold them flat.
"We're using the same technique we used to get Sam in, but we're not going out stealthily," he said, earning murmurs from the small group. "We kill everyone and thing we find," he explained. "And destroy the lasts of their experiments."
