A Thug's Love Never Dies: Chapter 1
~4 Years Later~
~Lexis P.O.V.~I've been locked up for just about four years. DeAnte was working for Nelle's dad and when Ryan and DeAnte were forced to be in the same gang, Ryan spilled the beans about what drugs I was dealing with. Nelle's dad pressed charges against me and I ended up in jail. The sentence was shortened by one year, which may not seem like much but when you're in jail one year makes a whole difference.
I haven't talked to Nelle since the day I was arrested. This jail didn't allow visitors or letters or even phone calls. Unless it was to talk to your parole officer. So naturally I was left wondering how she was, especially with the kids. It sucked that I was stuck in a cell while I missed out on four years of Trey's life and then wasn't even there for the first few years of my second child's life. I don't even know if Nelle actually had the baby the begin with, let alone the gender, name, and all the other details. She could have miscarried from the stress of me not being there- I need to stop thinking like that.
Sitting in this cell, day in and day out was like hell for the first year or so. Things got easier when I got a cell mate who just happened to be JJ from my gang so it wasn't so bad. Speaking of my gang, I don't know what's going on with it. Is it still even up and running? I know I have Javier, Varo and Arlie but you just never know. JJ had told me the gang was still going strong up till he got arrested so I assume the other three are keeping up with it.
"What day is it?" I asked as I laid on my bunk just staring up at the ceiling. I was put on medication to keep me calm since altercations were happening out in the yard between me and some other members from a gang IRG had beef with from when I was around thirteen. To solve this issue, wardens were giving me meds and in a sense I was glad. It kept my mind at rest and ease.
"June eighth. Two more weeks for you then four more months for me." JJ said as he walked over from the door to take a seat on the bottom bunk.
"I miss 'em so much." I breathed out with a sigh. Trey is already six and my youngest is four... just thinking about that is getting to me. Those are years I can never get back.
"I know, Lexis. But aye keep in mind that in two weeks you gon' to reunite with them." He continued to say. "Just remain on good behavior for two more weeks- especially since they got you easing off those meds." Real shit.
"You think she moved on?" This just crossed my mind. "Be honest, JJ."
"I don't think she would. She seemed like she was gonna hold it down for you."
"I hope so." I decided to turn in early and rolled over on my side so I faced the wall. I let out a yawn and closed my eyes, letting sleep take over.
~2 weeks later~
~Nelle Bells P.O.V.~These past 4 years have been the hardest without Lexis here to help. Trey was already in school and reminded me too much of Lexis. Seems like as each day goes by he picks up a new trait or characteristic that resembles Lexis.
As for my other baby. I had another boy. His name was Tyreese, but we all called him Ty for short and he didn't seem bothered by that little nickname. He was attached to me and didn't share many qualities with Trey aside from their looks. Ty definitely looks more like Lexis but is shy and a lot calmer.
Being a single mother had it's difficulties, without a doubt but I was thankful to have help when I needed it. Javier, Varo and Arlie always said they would help me with whatever I needed and I sought help from Arlie more so because he has a better understanding for kids. Plus Nicole and Trey got along very well.
