When Greece was younger, he used to escape from Turkey's palace and run around Istanbul. On one of his adventures, he ran into bandits and was about to be killed when Turkey found and protected him, causing a gash across his eyes that almost blinded him. He wore the mask to hide it but even though it's healed he wears it out of habit.
