~ Chapter Three ~
Age: Fifteen/Half
"Wait for me somewhere between reality and all we've ever dreamed." ~ Unknown
I hung my head as Lil, Aiden, his friends and I walked up to Jacob Morgan's house, one of Aiden's good football friends. I sighed as we reached the front door, I didn't want to be here. If it wasn't for Lily or Miranda, I wouldn't have been. But of course, Lily couldn't go without me because she needed her wing women, and Aiden couldn't go without me because John didn't trust him. Hm... smart man.
I fiddled with my top, and straightened my shorts out as Aiden opened the door. Lily looked over at me as we entered and grinned. I flinched. My eyes traveled over the hundreds of people that was already here, and the party hasn't even started yet. People were laughing and music was blasting as people danced. "This is so cool!" Lily said as she grabbed my arm, "We're at a seniors party! A seniors! With hot guys!" I rolled my eyes as Lily kept going on and on. Being at a seniors party is not something to brag about. I was terrified.
Aiden and his friends looked over at Lily and I and his eyes met mine. He saluted me and said, "Later loser, I'll find you when I'm ready to go home." He turned around, his friends right on his tail. I opened my mouth and yelled out, "Don't be too long!" I got the bird in reply.
I glared at his retrieving back and I heard Lily giggle beside of me. "Lighten up Abbey! Come on." She grabbed my hand and pulled us through the crowd of people. I take that back. The crowd of animals. Just one look at these people and I had to remind myself I wasn't at home watching the geographic channel. Girls grinding up on guys like they were in heat, Guys guzzling the beer like a camel does water.
Lily came to a stop in the kitchen in front of a huge glass bowl. She grabbed two red solo cups and filled them up with whatever was in the bowl and handed one to me. "Bottoms up, Sport." With that said, she tilted hers up and I heard her guzzling as she drunk almost the whole thing. People cheered her on and I stepped closer to her, sniffing the contents in the cup. My nose scrunched up in distaste as the horrific smell hit my nostrils. "What is this?" Lily giggled, "Don't worry, it smells worse than it taste. Now drink." She tilted my cup up, and made it to where I could either drink the fowl smelling liquid, or wear it.
After she let the cup go, I threw it away from my lips, coughing up a storm as my throat burned. 'What the hell!" Lily giggled again and grabbed my hand, "Looks like its already kicking in, better get you on the dance floor before it wears off." Once again, we pushed our way threw animal central and went into the center of the room where everyone was doing the Cha-Cha Slide.
Lil and I joined in. Laughing with joy as we'd mess up. People would shoot us glares as we'd bump into them, Lil and I would just grin innocently.
After we danced for a bit, we both went outside to cool down. Sweat was rolling down my face as the cool, night air had me sighing out loud. "Man that feels good." Lily laughed and we took a seat on the two chairs sitting beside the sliding door. As Lily and I were fanning ourselves as best as we could with our hands, she suddenly spoke up, "Hey, isn't that Aiden and them?" I followed her line of sight, and as she had said, there he and his group of demons sat in a circle.
"What do you think they're doing?" She asked. I shrugged my shoulders and leaned back in the chair with my arms crossed, watching as Aiden threw his head back and laughed. "I don't know, and don't care." I replied. Lily shot up from her chair and my eyes widened as she began walking towards them, "Let's go find out." I stumbled out of my chair and hurriedly followed after her, "Lily!" I whispered yelled. "Lily!" She either didn't hear me, or was ignoring me. I'm going with the later.
As we got closer to the circle of people, Aiden's head shot up and his glaring eyes met mine. Hatred and Anger so strong shined bright in his eyes that it almost had me running for road and hitchhiking a way home. Almost. I threw a smirk at him as his glare intensified.
"Hey guys," Lily started as we both took a seat on the ground, people scooting over to keep the circle foundation, "What're doing?" A petite blonde smiled at her and replied, "We're playing truth or dare, it's Jacob's turn to pick someone. You and Abbey can play if you want?" Lily smiled at her and nodded, "Abbey and I would love to play, thank you." I hid my frown of distaste for the game behind my hand as the blonde smiled again, "Good. Go Jacob." I looked at Jacob, the dude throwing the party, and watched as he glanced at Lily. "You. Truth or Dare?"
Have you ever been jealous of your best friend? Not like, I-hate-you-jealous, but omg-why-can't-I-be-like-you jealous? No? I have. I would kill to have Lily's confidence. To be able to smirk when the most hottest and popular guy at school asks you truth or dare.
"Dare." Lily said. A grin lit up Jacob's face as he gazed at Lily. "Take off your shirt." Lily rolled her eyes, "Seriously? That's it? No running around naked, no skinning dipping, but take off my shirt?" I giggled as she pulled her shirt off and threw it at Jacob's face, "Horrible dare, dude." Jacob's cheeks were crimson as he pulled Lily's shirt from his face and laid it down beside of him. I heard Aiden chuckle and when I looked up his eyes met mine, and he smirked. Oh no.
"My turn. Abbey, truth or dare?" Aiden asked. I gulped as everyone looked at me expectantly. "Um, Uh," Aiden chuckled softly. "Today Abbey, or are you too chicken?" I glared at him and his grin widened. "Dare." Aiden's eyes clouded over. Thunder and lightning cracking through his irises as he gazed at me. "I dare you to kiss me." My eyes widened as gasps filled the night.
"What the hell Aiden?! You hate her!" One of his buddies yelled as Aiden kept his eyes on me. Lily shook her head at me, "Don't do it, it's a trap." Aiden interjected before I could tell her I wasn't stupid enough to believe otherwise. "She has to, it's a dare. I mean, she don't have to, but she will have to run around the house naked in substitution." Aiden said, that stupid smirk planted on his face the whole time.
"That's ten times better than kissing you, Asshole!" Lily growled at him. I couldn't talk from shock, or else I would have said the exact same thing. Aiden leaned back on his hands and stretched out his legs, "It's up to Abbey I guess." Everyone's heads shot towards me again, and I flinched. "Don't do it Abbey." Lily whispered, "It's a trap, I'm telling you." Aiden's eyes glittered with mischief, as if knowing I would back down. That's the exact reason why I said what I said next.
"I'll do it." I barely whispered. Silence filled the night as everyone looked back and forth to a wide eyed Aiden, and to me. "You will?" Lilly asked, "Yeah, you will?" Aiden echoed. I smirked, "What's the matter Aiden? Too chicken?" His jaw clinched, a sign of anger I was sure only I saw, before he grinned. "Nah babe, I'm just worried my kiss will ruin any other chances a guy has with you. I mean, who could compare to me?" I just smirked as we both inched closer to each other.
"Abbey..." Lily warned. I looked behind me at her and winked, "Don't worry, I got this." She looked confused but she didn't speak again. Whispers could be heard as Aiden and I were close enough to touch now.
"Dude, who'd have ever thought? Aiden and Abbey?"
"I always knew he liked her. And vise versa."
"Lucky Bitch."
Aiden's hand came up and cupped my cheek as he smiled at me, "Ready to be blown away?" He whispered. I smirked as he came closer, "Definitely."
His eyes closed and that gave me the perfect opportunity to grab some girl's solo cup. I could feel the whisper of his lips as I spilled liquid over his head. He gasped and shot away from me as I wore a grin of triumph. "What the hell Abbey!" He yelled, as everyone laughed around us. I smirked at him and shrugged my shoulders innocently.
"Oops."
