~ Chapter Twenty ~
"I want to be your favorite hello and your hardest goodbye." ~ Unknown
Aiden's POV
People say that you either have to die, or do something really bad in order to see an angel. The angel will visit you to take you home, or the angel will come to tell you that you're being a jackass and you need to straighten yourself out.
But the first time I saw an angel, it was for neither of those things.
My brother had told me that he was dating some chick, someone that he really liked and wanted me to meet, blah, blah, blah. But all I heard when he told me that he had a girlfriend was the sound of my dreams being crushed. No more late night Taco Bell runs. No more lying around in our underwear all day. And worst of all, no more bro time.
The dude had fallen for the doe eyed prep, and was more whipped than cool whip.
So here I was, wearing the most ridiculous button up shirt, all because Romeo wanted to impress his woman and her sister.
“Play it cool, Aiden. I’m serious. And if you’re good, I’ll buy you the new madden game.” Big Bro said, and I grinned.
The boy new how to drive a hard bargain.
We shook on it on the front porch of this girl’s house, before the door flew open and a high pitch voice met our ears. “John and Aiden! I’m so glad you could make it! Come in, come in.”
I looked at my brother with raised eyebrows as if to say, “Seriously Bro, you picked this one?” But he kept his fake smile on his face for Miranda and shoved me inside the house.
“My aunts are in town and shouldn’t be back for a while; I was just finishing up the Tacos.” Miranda said, smiling up at my brother like he was the newest play station.
“Oh, I could help with the food.” John said.
“Really? Y-You don’t have to, John.”
“No, I want to.”
Kill me. Put me out of this gushy, emotional, bullshit, misery!
“Well alright then, Aiden, Abbey's in her room playing her game if you want to go say hi.” Miranda said, her and John never wavering their eyes from each other.
I didn’t even give her a response, I just ran from the two idiots as fast as I could.
I dashed up the stairs and entered the first room I came to, praying it was a bathroom so I wouldn’t have to meet doe eye’s sister who I was sure was just as bad as she was.
But of course us St. Claire’s never have any luck.
“Don’t you knock?”
Her voice was soft, and it had an edge to it as I turned around from the door I had just closed behind me and met her angry eyes.
