~ Chapter Twenty-Four ~
"Darlin' don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And I'll love you for a thousand more." ~ Christina Perri
“Please talk to me, Red.”
I ignored him, for the millionth time, and kept loading up my luggage in Lily’s car.
Winn came over with Poppy and Lily, both of the girls looking like hell had swallowed and spit them back out. He handed me two bags to put in the back of the trunk as Lily and Poppy climbed in the backseat, grumbling and moaning about never drinking again.
I rolled my eyes, like we haven’t heard that one before.
Winn chucked me Lily’s car keys, all of us deciding it was best that I drive since the owner wasn’t even coherent, before climbing in the passenger seat.
“What, even Winn is mad at me now?” Aiden muttered, as I left him standing at the rear of the car before I walked over to the driver’s side.
“Abbey-.”
I held the door open as I swung my head around to gawk at him.
“What, Aiden?! What do you want from me?”
His eyes drifted towards the ground as his shoulders dropped, “I just want you to talk to me.” He muttered.
I laughed bitterly, “And tell you what? That you fucked up? That now because of you, our “vacation” is cut short. That now my aunts are coming home a week early from their trip, because of you? That Poppy’s mom is probably never going to let her or Winn socialize with Lily and I again because you decided it would be smart to start a fight in public? No, wait, maybe you want me to tell you that this has been the worst day of my life, because of you?!”
He flinched as my voice rose higher, and clenched his jaw. “I didn’t mean for any of that to happen.”
I threw my arms up, “What did you expect? You got in a fight, we all got arrested, our parents were called, and now we’re going home to probably a screaming Miranda and a highly pissed off John.”
“I can fix it.”
“How?! How can you fix this, Aiden?” I shook my head in bewilderment, “Why did you even fight him in the first place?”
He met my eyes, momentarily making me feel guilty by how devastated they seemed, “He was going to ask you out, Red.”
I narrowed my eyes, “And? So what if he was! It’s none of your business who I go on dates with! I watch you Aiden, I watch you at school when you use those girls then drop them on their knees after you’re through with them. But I never say anything to you, I never get into what you do.”
He started to stalk towards me, and I started to back up before he grabbed my arm.
“I know that! Okay? I know I fucked up. I know you’re pissed at me. And I know I’m a fucking whore. That’s what I do! I screw them until they can’t walk straight and then I leave. I. Leave. Abbey!”
We stood there, my friends in the car with their ears touching the glass, and his friends in their car ten feet away playing on their phones and acting like they can’t hear us argue.
I snarled at him and tried to yank my arm away, “I don’t want to hear about your damn sex life, Aiden!”
He shook his head and held on tighter to my arm, “You didn’t let me finish!”
I struggled some more before he finally moved our bodies until he had both of my arms pinned down beside of me as he pressed himself against me on the the car.
