~ Chapter Twenty-Two ~
“Love is a messy, annoying, but yet strangely full-filling emotion. I hate you, yet I love you. You fill my every thought, my every desire… I just can’t get enough of you. And that really pisses me off.” ~ Aiden St. Claire
Aiden’s POV
There he was again. The smug motherfucker.
Who does he think he is, talking to my girl? Grinning at her with that weird ass smile of his, laughing at something she said… making her smile; it made me sick.
I wanted to be the one to make her smile. But instead I’ve been the one to make her scream in frustration, cry, and invent new curse words for the last three years.
If I’m being brutally honest with myself… I really couldn’t blame her for forgetting our first shared kiss; her only first kiss. I was an ass. I knew that.
I knew I wasn’t good enough for her. No one is good enough for Abbey.
But that didn’t stop asshats from trying their hardest to prove to be good enough to her. First it was Franklin Pierce. He had sounded like a love sick puppy when he first told me he was planning on asking Abbey to his party he was throwing that year. I stopped that relationship before it even had a chance to start.
I told Franklin that Abbey wasn’t interested. That she actually told me earlier that morning that she thought he was a loser. So I lied, sue me. But I couldn’t help that he was dumb enough to believe me.
We planned the “Abbey Takedown” together. And she left with punch dripping all over her hurt expression and that pretty little dress of hers.
A dress that should’ve been ruined sooner! Who did she think she was showing up to a party looking like that? I was surprised that I got to her before all of the guys had tried to make a move on her. But they knew better.
And if they didn’t back then, I made sure after the party was over to make it clear. Abbey Renolds was mine.
No guy even thought to look at her as a challenge after that. Hell, they made sure to avoid eye contact with her when I was around.
But obviously, someone had forgotten to let Chase in on the unspoken rule.
Don’t mess with another bro’s girl.
I heard him ask her out. That fucking prick asking my girl to go on a date with him.
Not on my watch.
“She declines.” I said, my eyes narrowing on their when they turned their heads to look at me.
I ignored Abbey’s guilty expression and studied Chase’s pissed off one. I smirked lightly.
That’s right, motherfucker. Back the hell up.
“H-Hey, Aiden” Her voice sounded just as guilty as she looked. And Chase must have thought so too because he turned towards her briefly and gazed at her questionably.
Pretty Boy faced his body towards mine, “I think it’s up to her to decide.”
His words sent my body on edge, and I found myself quickly flying over to stand toe to toe with him. “Yeah? Well you know what I think?” I growled.

HumorTo say that Abbey Renolds hates Aiden St. Claire is an understatement. He's vile, rude, and loves to ruffle Abbey's feathers every chance he gets. Not to mention she is forced to see him on a daily basis not only at school, but at her sister's house...
