~ Chapter Twenty-Nine ~
"Even the princess deserves heartbreak, even the witch deserves love." ~ Unknown
"So what's this I hear about your Taco Bell showdown?" Aunt Nelly asked, looking in the rear view mirror at me. Pop music filled my few moments of silence as I glanced out the window watching the houses go by until finally I smirked, "I called it that too."
"We know we're not the best of role models when it comes to living 'right', but we do love you and we're worried." Debbie stated, lifting her foot up on the dashboard. Nelly nodded, "The stunt you pulled isn't like you, A-Dawg; surely that boy's looks hasn't completely re-wired your brain."
Sometimes I could swear that I was the fifty year old, and my two aunts were the teenager; their actions and vocabulary being the prime supporter of my theory. I wanted to comment on my new hip nickname; but the mention of Aiden, even in cryptic wording, made my mouth go dry and had me shivering, leaning closer to the door frame as if it would be my protection from his previous stated words.
"Fuck her."
"I know he's fine as wine chic-a-dee, but he's not good for you. Your stay with your sister has proved that." Nelly snorted and Debbie nodded in agreement, patting my knee sympathetically.
"I agree, you're a good girl Abbey and he's- well, he's broken."
Broken. Was Aiden broken?
I tuned out the rest of their concerns and pondered over their statement.
He didn't seem broken. In fact, he seemed full of life; always coming up with pranks and always smirking at me with his mischievous, twinkling eyes. He was always laughing and joking with friends, always the life of the party, and always the center of attention.
Wouldn't a broken person be alone? Wouldn't they seem sad?
I gripped on tighter to the door handle and my aunt's words came tumbling back to me.
"-Stay away from him for a while, Abbey. We're giving you your cell phone and car keys back but we're doing it with trust. Don't make us regret our decision," Nelly grumbled as she put the car in park.
I nodded robotically and stepped out of the car, taking in my home and compairing it to the one I had just left with the boy who has always caused havoc in my life.

I had invited Lily, Poppy, and Winn to come over and help me unpack but really I just needed someone to rant to. The shock and sadness had evaporated and in came the next stage of rejection; anger.
"Who the hell does he think he is anyway? He kisses me, while I'm drunk, practically throws me on a stranger's car, while I'm drunk, and he admitted feelings for me, while i was drunk!" I throw the red t-shirt I yanked out of my suitcase, to the ground as Lily opens her mouth. "I-."
"And on top of that he tells me he loves me, when he's holding me down and tickling me, and won't stop until I say he's the hottest guy around and I love him! Who even does that? Who makes someone lie about feelings like that?!" I stomp over to my closet and roughly yank down a few clothes hangers.
