~ Chapter Twenty-Six ~
"Suddenly she felt strong and happy. She was not afraid of the darkness or the fog and she knew with a singing in her heart that she would never fear them again." ~ Gone with the Wind
Aiden looked like he was going to cause trouble.
It wasn't the way he dressed, cause really Aiden always dressed the same. Tattered jeans, plain t-shirts, and an occasional ball cap, like the one he was wearing now.
But really if I thought about it... Aiden always looked like he was going to cause havoc.
It was the way he carried himself, with confidence and a jerk in his shoulders that poured arrogance. It was the smirk and the twinkle in his eyes, so full of life and rebellious behavior just jumping to get free.
Aiden was a walking disaster, a never ending dark oblivion. And he was going to take me down with him.
"Aren't we supposed to be grounded?" I asked as Aiden handed me a spare ball cap to put over my hair. He looked at me until I rolled my eyes and covered my eyes with the hat.
I followed him to his truck, "And doesn't John have our keys?"
Aiden chuckled darkly, "Who said we needed keys?"
A ball dropped in my stomach as I realized, shit, was about... to get real.
"And why are you wearing all black?" I asked and he sighed but never answered my question.
Aiden walked to the garage, leaving me standing beside of his truck, glancing over my shoulder as if Miranda and John was going to come and bust us at any second.
Why do I always go along with him? Why am I here right now? What was he going to do? Where was he going to take us? How has my life changed so drastically in a matter of a week?
"You ask a lot of questions."
I jerked my head and gazed at Aiden smirking, holding a crow bar. "Huh?"
He pushed himself in front of me and slid the bar into the driver side door, giving it a good pop before the door opened and I squeaked, "What are you-?!"
The Man Whore chuckled, "See? Too many questions." He threw the crow bar to the side before he gestured for me to climb into the truck, "After you, my lady."
I narrowed my eyes on his, "Tell me where we're going first."
"No."
"Is there a chance of us getting in more trouble than we already are?"
"Mhmm."
"Can you promise my safety?"
"Mostly."
"I don't have no choice do I?"
Aiden chuckled, "Not really."
I sighed and hopped in the damned truck, making sure to kick my feet out as I rised high up in the ground.
