When It Started

CHAPTER 18

CHANDLER'S POV

I left Bri outside again. Why won't she just leave me alone. I saw Alex enter the house when I was arguing with Bri I decided to follow her inside. I went inside her room and saw her loading bullets in her gun for tomorrows run. It was Monday today so we had a run tomorrow. "Hey." I said. "Hey." She answered not looking away from her gun. "May I come in?" I asked her. She kept quiet for a while but then she answered. "Yeah." She told me and I entered and closed the door and sat on her bed. We kept quiet for a few minutes until she spoke up. "So your girlfriend... She survived." She told me. "Girlfriend?" I asked her. "Yeah the one that you were talking to a while ago." She told me. "Oh you mean Bri?" I asked her. And she nodded still fixing her guns. "Bri's not my girlfriend she's my ex." I told her. She turned around facing me. "She's not?" She asked. "Yeah we broke up a few days after I met you then she kept on trying to get me back." I told her. "How come I never knew?" She asked me. "You never asked." I told her. She faced her guns again. "Alex?" I asked her. "Yeah?" She asked as she finished loading the last set. "You look down." I told her. "I do?" She asked me. She faced me again. She placed the gun on
the table. "Yeah ever since this all started." I told her. "Well I'm just... I guess I'm afraid." She told me.

"Why?" I asked her. "Chandler look around you." She told me and I wanted to mentally face palm my self. "Those things can't be the only thing keeping you scared." I told her. She sighed and sat beside me. "Fine. I'm afraid... That I might lose all of the people I have left in my life. I'm afraid that one of those things will bite one of you and I have to kill you or that person. And most of all I'm afraid of losing you. Afraid that you might leave me and forget me. That you and I may never be best friends one day. " She told me.

I looked at her. "Alex always remember that no matter what happens you will always be my best friend." I told her. I saw a hint of sadness and happiness in her eyes. "Thanks I'm getting tired now." She told me. "Oh ok then. I guess I'll just go." I told her and I stood up. She stood up and also walked to the door. "Night Chandler." She told me. "Night Alex." I replied. She closed the door and I started walking to my room when I heard the door open again and I felt a pair of arms wrap around me. "Alex?" I said as I looked at her. "Chandler promise me you won't leave me." She said and I saw tears forming in her eyes. "I Promise." I told her and I wiped the tear that fell on her face. "And I promise that I will protect you no matter what happens cause you're my best friend." I told her. She smiled at me and hugged me again and I hugged her back. "Go get some rest. Run tomorrow remember." I told her and she nodded. "Night Alex." I told her. "Night Chandler." She told me as she started walking back to her room.

When I got back to my room
I had an Amazing idea. I remembered that every Tuesday we have a sleep over. I decided to make tomorrow a day off for the two of us. I grabbed the movies I found in our past runs and prepared the rest of the things for tomorrow night. I closed my lights and drifted off to sleep.
