When It Started

CHAPTER 28

LUKE'S POV

After my walk with Dane I excused myself for a walk in the wood because she was going to help
with the kitchen problem.
I was walking for around 15 mins when I felt something behind me. I turned around and saw a walker limping towards me. I reached for my gun but I wasn't in the holster I reached for my knife. Not in there too. I fell to the ground as it started to get closer.

I grabbed the nearest object to me it was a rock. I grabbed it and slammed it on the walkers head as blood splattered all over me. "Great." I said. I pushed the dead body aside and continued walking. I started to think about Zelya I missed her I wanted to be with her again. But shes dead and I... I have Dane now. I thought to my self suddenly something on a tree caught my attention. It was a piece of paper it was folded in a letter like way. I grabbed it and saw that there was my name on it. Luke. I grabbed it and hurriedly opened it.

Dear Luke

I doubt you will find this its in the middle of the forest I don't even know if you're alive. I'm sorry for leaving you. I was worried that I might slow you down. But when I left you there you don't know how heart broken I was. I was scared to be alone to not have you by my side in this crappy world. I regret everything thing I did but it had to be done. I did not want you dying I wanted you to be safe and alive I hope you're ok if you're reading this Luke I just wanted to tell you that I'm alive. And just remember Luke

I'm alive and I still love you.

Tears of joy filled my eyes as I read the letter finding out that Zelya's alive. I ran back inside DZ when I heard screaming in the forest. I immediately knew who that was. "Zelya." I said and I ran inside to find anyone. I saw Norman and I ran towards him. "Norman! Norman!" I screamed. He looked at me startled. "What?" He asked me. "H-Help m-me." I panted. "No time to explain lets go." I told him when I caught my breath and I grabbed his arm leading him to the screaming. I saw a group of guys hovering over someone.

"Zelya!" I screamed. I heard muffled screams. I immediately punched one guy on the face he fell on the ground. There where three of them. I heard a thud on the ground whe I looked behind I saw a life less body of one of the guys with a bullet through the head. We knocked out  the other two and tied them to a tree leaving them there to starve of to be eaten by walkers because we had no choice they could follow us back. I went to the girl she was nothing but her underwear. I took of the blindfold and gag and tears filled my eyes when I looked at her. "Luke." She said and I smiled and hugged her tight. "Zelya... You're alive you're ok." I told her and she winced in pain. She had cuts and bruises and like I said only in her underwear. I grabbed her clothes and gave it to her.

She wore it again and she followed us back to the DZ. I asked Norman if we could get her a house and he lead her to Brianna's house out of all the houses why there. We went inside the house and I started treat her wounds. "What happened to you?" I asked her. "I-I a-almost g-got r-r-aped." She said shaking in fear I hugged her. Norman entered the room brining clothes for Zelya. I gave it to her and went outside of her room. I left her there to rest for a while. I went back to our house and kept the letter inside my jacket and started preparing for tomorrows run.

ALEX'S POV

I woke up and I looked outside. The moon was just rising so it means I just took a nap. I stood up and went downstairs to find Austin and Katlyn sitting. "Hey you're awake." Austin said. "Yeah..." I told them I sat down beside them on the couch. "I was wondering if I  can come to the run tomorrow." I asked them. They looked at me for a moment. "Go ask Norman." They said and I went outside to look for Norman. I saw Chandler glanced at me I tried my best to ignore him but I sent him a small smile. He smiled back at me and I continued walking. I saw Norman cleaning his crossbow outside of his house. "Alex? What are you doing here I thought I told you to stay inside the house?" He asked me. "Well..." I said. "Well what?" He asks me.

"I needed to ask you something." I told him. "And that is?" He asked. "Can I join the run tomorrow?" I asked him. "No." He said straight to my face. "B-but why?" I asked him. "You're still injured." He said. "Please let me join." I pleaded. "No means no." He said. "Please please please just driving and shooting no carrying or packing." I told him. He could be very over protective sometimes. He thought for a moment. "Ok fine." He said. I pumped my fist in the air with happiness but quickly brought it down when I realized it was my injured arm and it stung. "But..." He starts. "Ugh theres always a but." I whined. "Bring Brad with you and Katie too since Chandler needs a partner and you're not available at the moment." He said and I blew the hair from my face as he mentioned Katie. Don't get me wrong shes a very kind and nice girl but it hurts to see her with Chandler but I don't hate her well maybe a little. I went to Katie to tell her about it and I also went to Brads house after and hanged with him for a while. "I'm glad I'm you're partner tomorrow." Brad said. He turned tad red. "Yeah its going to be great too bad I can't do much." I told him as I looked at my arm. "Relax I'm still going to enjoy it no matter what as long as I'm with you." He said and he ruffled my hair and kissed my forehead. I felt my self turning so red. "I-I'm going to rest now. Night Brad." I said I kissed him on the cheek and he turned red as I started to wall back home to get some rest.
