When It Started

CHAPTER 14

LUKE'S POV

I continued trying to focus on my driving but with Zelya running away its driving me nuts. I looked at the back to see Ashton and Calum fooling around at the back of the truck while Michael and Sam were sleeping. Sam's head was on Michael's shoulder while Michael's head was on Sam's head. I saw Dane shift. It was starting to get dark. I looked around and saw a small cottage. I stopped the car and Michael and Sam woke up. I looked at them and Sam turned tad red. "Its getting dark we need to stay here for the night." I said and they nodded. Me and Ashton are going to see if the house is Clear while Sam Calum and Michael stay there to guard Dane and the supplies. We opened the door I prepared my knife and just as I opened it something fell it was a dead body. Its already rotten... but dead. I put the body aside and we entered the house it was only one floor we entered the kitchen and all the rooms everything was clear. "Lets go call them." Ashton said. I nodded and when we got outside I saw Sam and Calum stabbing some walkers. "Come on lets go." I said and they entered the house. I went to the car with Michael and Calum they brought in the supplies as I carried Dane in her room. Soon enough we were already settled.

I took first watch tonight everyone in the house was asleep while I fiddled with the gun in my hand as I heard rustling in the bushes. I went to the bushes and got my knife out I pushed the bush to see what was in it but there was nothing. Suddenly I heard footsteps running behind me. I followed it and saw a familiar height and clothing. "Dane?!" I screamed while chasing the person. It was her but she did not look back. I chased after her and soon enough I cornered her she was between me and a tree. "D-Dane." I panted. "Wh-what do you think you're doing?" I asked her. "Playing tag with you. What does it look like I'm running away from you." She said sarcastically I looked at her and she was panting too. "Why are you even out at this time?" I asked her. "How about you why are you awake at this time huh?" She asked me. "Im on night watch." I told her "Can you please leave me alone!" She screamed while she was trying to find an escape under my arms but I still cornered her. "Dane you'll die out here." I told her. She sighs and she starts walking back to the cabin. Once she gets in I closed the door to continue guarding the area.

~5:30 am~

Michael Sam and Calum were already awake we were starting to pack our things when We heard someone scream. We looked outside and saw 3 walkers eating a person alive like literally still alive. "H-Help me!" The boy screamed. Me Michael and Calum stabbed the walkers while Sam stabbed the guy's head to prevent him from changing. "We need to go now." Sam said. Dane and Ashton soon rushed out. "What happened?" Dane asked. I pointed to the dead walkers and person. "Well thats a nice way to wake up." Ashton said. I picked up the bodies and threw them aside. "Lets go." I said and we entered the car. After around 8 hours of driving Calum at the back of the truck called me. "Luke! Look!"
He said and he pointed to a place with tall thick walls that has the word Dead Zone. "I know this place." Sam said. "Dead Zone..." Michael read. "Alex! She might be in there!" Dane screamed. I followed the track to the Zone and when we got there there was a tall gate. We got down from the cars and knocked on the gate. Suddenly the gate opened revealing a girl with mixed shades of long brown hair and a boy who looked like Carl in TWD. The girl
was wearing a white shirt with a leather Jacket black Jeans and combat boots. The boy was wearing a black shirt with a jacket tied around him pants and sneakers. "Sam? Dane?" The girl asked.
