Chapter 11

Lindsay’s POV

“How do you know Lindsay, Harley?” Cole asked.

I furrowed my eyebrows. Why would he ask that if he already knows the answer? I thought.

He needed a conversation starter, Seth told me through my mind. Do you really think that he would start off saying ‘we know you attacked her and we want to kill you’? C’mon, Lindsay, we have some class.

I can see you doing that, but not Cole.

Are you saying that I don’t have class?

Maybe, maybe not, I shrugged discreetly.

He sighed. You irritate me greatly.

I snickered. That’s not my problem.

Seth glared at me. Yes it is—you caused it.

So? What’s your problem?

You’re the one that caused it! It’s your fault!

I fail to see how it’s my fault. I cannot control if you’re irritated or not.

He glared at me more. I hate you.

You should really stop giving me that look—it makes you look constipated.

Seth smirked.  You know you like it.

I grimaced. Ew. Why would you say that I like you looking constipated?

You like me any way I look.

I stuttered, trying to find a come back.

Save it, sweetheart. We all know it. With one last wink, Seth left my head.

Turning back to Cole’s conversation with Harley, I saw Seth smirking at me from the corner of his eye. Go away.

Ouch, he grasped his chest above his heart. Your word hurt me.

Good. It means that you’ll stay away from me.

He shrugged. Alright. I’ll just leave Cole to protect you, who, by the way, is not as strong as me and cannot read minds, but of that’s what you really want… he trailed off, shrugging again.

Suddenly, a thought hit me. Seth, if you can read minds, then why can’t you just look inside Harley’s head and see if she actually is my attacker?

…Shut up… Seth left my head again, probably going into Harley’s. A few seconds later, he came back. She’s blocking her mind.

I furrowed my eyebrows. What do you mean?

I can’t see into her mind. She probably knows that we’re on to her.

There’s a way to block my mind from you?

Yeah. Why?

Why didn’t you tell me before?!

Why would I? I like hearing you complement me.

What are you talking about?
