Chapter 21
Seth, what’s wrong? I sent Seth a message in my mind.
I was sitting in chemistry, unable to focus on what Mr. Jay was saying. Seth’s behavior has been bothering me all day and now I plan to get to the bottom of it.
No answer.
Seth, what’s wrong?
Again, no answer.
Seth, really, I want to know what’s up with you.
Once again, no answer.
Seth, I’m dying! I fake gasped for air in my mind.
I was met with silence. Nice to know that he cares about my well-being.
Seth… I love you.
What?!
I silently snickered in satisfaction. So Seth doesn’t care if I die, but he cares that I ‘love’ him.
Nothing. What’s wrong with you?
You just said that you love me.
…No I didn’t. I think you’re imagining things, Seth.
No I’m not! You just said that you love me.
Just admit it, Seth. You’re imagining things.
No I’m not!
Yes you are! Admit it Seth, you’re slowly going insane with old age.
I’m not old!
Seth, you’re 113 years old. How is that not old? Ew! You’re sleeping with high school girls. Can you say pedophile?
So? At least I’m not dating a 112 year old man.
So sleeping around with girls that are 95 years younger than you is better?
That’s exactly what I’m saying. Falling in love with a 112 year old man? Ew.
Of course you’ll find it gross, Seth, you’re a guy… unless you were previously or currently gay.
I’m not gay! Though I must admit that the women weren’t the best. The skirts were too poofy and long, until the flapper style, but I still think that today’s fashion is better, Seth ended with a whistle in my head.
You are such an old perverted man.
You know it. Believe it or not, but there are creatures out there that are well over a thousand years old.
I bet that they are all old and wrinkly like you.
I’m not old!
You can say that all you want, Seth, but that doesn’t deny the fact that you’re old.
Seth grumbled something that I didn’t catch and left my head, leaving me in peaceful quiet.

“Lindsay, help me with dinner until the boys arrive!” mom called from the kitchen.
I sighed and yelled, “Hold on!” before walking down the stairs.
Today is Saturday and Seth and Cole are coming over for dinner. Mom is incredibly excited while I am attempting to prepare myself for the most awkward dinner of my life.
I helped mom make lasagna, garlic bread, and salad for a hour as we waited for the brothers to arrive.
The doorbell rang around 6:00 and I ran to the door, eager to be away from cooking. I yanked the door open and had to catch my jaw before it fell to the ground.
Standing in from of me were Seth and Cole, Seth wearing a black button down shirt, dark jeans, and black combat boots; Cole was wearing a light grey button down, dark jeans, and a pair of black converse.
I will die from two incredibly hot brothers tonight. The headlines will say “Girl Killed from Mega Hotness”.
“Can we come in, or do you want me to get you a bucket for your drool?”
I snapped out of my daze and wiped my mouth, making Seth snicker. I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him. “Cole, do you want to come in?” I asked, switching my gaze to Cole as I sent him a smile.
Cole smirked at his brother and walked through the door, standing a few feet behind me.
Seth’s jaw dropped and gestured to himself. “What about me?!”
I shrugged. “Should have thought about that before being rude.”
I went to shut the door, but before it could close fully, Seth snuck his foot in between the door and the doorframe. “Now, now, Lindsay, you wouldn’t want to be rude to a guest, now would you?”
I shot him a glare. “No, but that’s only if the guest wasn’t being so rude to me first.”
Seth rolled his eyes and called out, “Hi Beth!”
Mom ran out of the kitchen, only to be met with my hand on the door and Seth wedged between the door and the frame. She turned and glared at me, her hands resting on her hips. “Lindsay Nicole Taylor! What have I old you about being polite to guests?!”
I quickly tried to explain. “But Mom, he--”
“It doesn’t matter. Seth is a nice boy and he is our guest; you should treat him with respect.
“Mom, I--” I tried again.
“Lindsay! Enough! Let that boy in and apologize to him.”
Sighing, I regretfully moved aside and let Seth in, inwardly cursing myself. Stupid Seth with his stupid good looks and amazing blue eyes.
This is going to be a long dinner.

Hey guys. I know that this is very late, but I had a ton of homework. This week, I have a five paragraph essay due in psychology, a lab conclusion due in chemistry 2, read a chapter for AP World history, and a bunch of crap for English. On top of that, I had soccer practice last night, tonight I have a meeting at my chruchfor a voulnteer thing, and tomorrow, I have to help out my little brother's fall baseball team because the head coach will not be there and I have to help my dad. This week has been a nightmare for me. Ugh.
Please vote! So far I have gotten two votes, and both of them made my day. If I get votes for this chapter, I will be incredibly happy!
