Chapter 24

“What?! What do you mean he’s captured? How? Why?” I blurted out, not giving Seth a chance to answer.

He grabbed my shoulders and shook me, yelling, “Lindsay, shut up!” Once I stopped asking all of my questions, Seth stopped shaking me and met my eyes. “Calm down; Cole will be fine. He’s a big boy and knows how to handle himself.”

“Well at least go help him!” I yelled, pushing his chest.

            “Why?”

“He’s your brother! Go help him!”

            “There is one problem.”

            “What?”

Seth tapped his temple. “The connection is gone.”

            “Can’t you track him?”

He shook his head. “Nope. It’s raining outside; his scent has been washed away,” he told me, gesturing to the window.

I looked through the glass, and sure enough, I could see the rain pounding against the pavement in the glow of the lamp post at the end of my driveway, lightning crackling through the night sky. “Well can’t you at least go to The Howler and look around? Maybe you could find something.”

“I could, but I’d rather stay here with you,” he smirked, sending me a wink.

I shoved his chest and pointed to the door. “Go help your brother!”

“I can’t believe you made me go here,” Seth muttered.

We were at The Howler and thanks to Seth and his compulsion, we got in with no problem.

“Don’t you care about your brother?” I demanded, resting my hands on my hips.

“Yeah, but not enough to do this.”

“Just go look around,” I shoved him. Of course, he didn’t even budge.

Seth turned around and faced me, an eyebrow raised. “You’re really weak, you know that?”

            “No I’m not!”

“Yes you are. You pushed me three times and none of them even made me loose my balance.”

“Well I’d rather be weak than all muscle-y and gross.”

“No because you have no muscles.”

Of course, I was obviously lying. Seth is wearing a loose white t-shirt under his leather jacket, but I could still see the outline of his eight-pack under it. I’m practically keeping my jaw shut to prevent drool from coming out.

“If you’re claiming that I have no muscles, then you obviously haven’t seen Cole; he’s so scrawny.”

“Cole is anything but scrawny,” I told him. Even though Cole isn’t as muscle-y as Seth, he is nowhere near scrawny. I can see his biceps flex every time he moves his arms and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a six-pack hidden under his shirt. Yeah, my boyfriend is hot.
