Chapter 35
“So, where are we going?” Seth asked.
We were sitting in his black Dodge Charger with him behind the wheel.
“I'm not telling you; we have to switch.” Ever since I “asked” Seth out, he made me pan the date, and I am not going to give him the satisfaction of being in control when I had to do everything.
“Why do we have to switch?”
“You made me plan the date, so I'm driving.”
“You're kidding me, right?”
I looked over and saw Seth looking at me in disbelief. “No, I'm serious; move.”
Seth sighed before getting out of the car and I got out to go around to the drivers' side. AS I moved to get into the car, Seth grabbed my arm to stop me. “If you get one scratch on Veronica, I will suck out your soul and you will die.”
I raised an eyebrow. “You call your car Veronica?”
His shoulders deflated. “Is that the only part you've heard?”
“Who names their car?”
“Lots of guys do!”
“So you picked Veronica? What about Bessie?”
He shrugged. “Who names their car Bessie? Why would you name your car after a cow? Mine is so much better because its a royal name. All of the other guys should be jealous and bow down to my car.”
I gently shoved him towards the passenger side. “Just get in the car.”

“I am never letting you drive my car again,” Seth gasped as he wobbled out of the car.
“Why not? I'm an amazing driver!”
“Whoever gave you your license must have been blind!”
I put a hand on my hip and demanded, “What is wrong with my driving?”
“You ran three stop signs, two red lights, drove on the sidewalk, and almost crashed into a guardrail,” Seth counted off on his fingers.
“I only almost crashed into a guardrail because you told me that I was driving too close to the line, so I just moved over a little bit,” I shrugged.
“A bit? A bit?! You moved three lanes over and drove into the grass!”
I rolled my eyes. “Oh, please. Stop being so dramatic.”
Seth sighed, knowing that he wouldn't win. “Lets just go inside the restaurant.” He dragged me through the doors of Bertucci's and walked over to the podium that the hostess was at. “Table for two.”
