It seems that the rumors of cops, Jordan being arrested, and the fire had somehow managed to get around the town and Gracie stayed by my side. It turns out that she has kind of a demanding voice and most people would leave us alone. She was telling me more about her and Carter and thanking me about talking to him, saying they are a lot stronger than they have ever been.

Gracie ended up coming over after school because she wants to meet Ashton. Jace, Tyler, and Carter were already here, and Nathan had been avoiding me since yesterday. Although playing on the Xbox right now. Carter didn’t like but he was just looking out for me and that was understandable.

There is a knock on the door a little before seven and I almost run out the room to answer it. I see him standing there, and I jump in his arms and wrap my arms around him. Even if our relationship is fake, even if I didn’t see him more than a friend, I would always miss Ashton and the stupid little comments he says to me every day.

“Hey, well that’s a nice welcome.” I nod my head and smile. His hair is darker than I remember. Sometimes I wonder if Ashton was using me as much as I was using him because he sometimes gives the impression that he's gay. I wouldn’t have a problem with it but he just seems a little vain. Well, a little too vain for a guy and I don’t exactly know many guys who would dye their hair. My hands brush through his hair and I say.

My hand brush through his brown locks and I say, "You’re dyed it, but it doesn't look bad. It actually suits you.” His index finger rubs my lips and he looks down, even though my legs are still wrapped around his waist. His mouth is pulled into a cheeky little smile which I know oh-so-well and he leans in to give me a peck on each cheek.

“I lost a bet. It was either hair dye or shaving it off.” I roll my eyes, knowing that his hair is incredibly important to him and he would rather go through a huge amount of pain than lose it all. I jump down so I’m now a little bit shorter than him.

    “You’re an idiot.”

“I like it better babe. So, which room do I sleep in or I’ll most likely be killed by ya brother.” I roll my eyes and take his hand, leading him upstairs to my room.

“So, this is the room you’re going to be painting. It needs a little decorating. I’ve had it like this since I was, like ten.” he laughs and puts his stuff by the sofa before pulling me against his body into another hug. I like kissing him, I like making out with him, but I love his hugs more than anything else.

“So, wait. You mean, this is the room I’ll be kissing you in, making out with you in, and having sex with you in? I guess the whole fake relationship is happening.” I nod my head because I didn’t want to be branded as a slut, and Ashton didn’t want to be classified as a player. We agreed during the summer that we should be dating and we always made the agreement due to his parents. I take his hand before playing with it and put it on my shoulder. He automatically moves his hand down to my waist. He kisses me on the cheek and we walk out the room and down the stairs. “Wait a sec,” Ashton says, pulling me back and pressing his lips to mine. I feel the color travel to my cheeks and he holds my head letting me lead us into the sitting room.

“Hey, you’re a red head,” Tyler says, looking at Ashton who rolls his eyes.

“He was an idiot and lost a bet, although you didn’t tell me why,” I say.

“That does not matter,” Ashton says and he walks over to the arm chair and he sits down, pulling me onto his lap before sending a glare in Nate’s direction. He leans into my ear and mummers, “Now, you know I was playing poker yesterday,” I nod my head and he continues, “Nate and you in a room is never a good thing. I’m guessing something happened.”

“He kissed me, and then I came to the conclusion that he’s not worth it, but I know he’s going to bring it up and try and get you to dump me,” I whisper.

“Okay, babe,” He kisses me on the cheek.

“You have, like, the best accent in the world,” Gracie says, and I smile slightly. I can see the smirk on Ashton’s face.

“Don’t say that, he already has a big enough head,” I say, throwing a smile in his direction.

“It’s Gracie, right?” She nods and Ashton catches my eye. “I’m Irish. I just live in the states, and my parents come over for the holidays but not thanksgiving. It’s not really in my blood to celebrate.” I did adore Ashton’s accent and therefore I didn’t mind rambling about anything because I could just sit here and take in all the words he was saying and it made me feel happy. I could just feel like utter crap and then hear his voice and feel a whole lot better.

“Everyone always like English accents the best, but Irish all the time,” She says.

“Guessing Nate’s dropped his accent. It’s about as English as you get.”

“Shut up, Ash,” Nate says, before getting to his feet and walking out the room. I bite on my bottom lip and Ashton shrugs his shoulders before showing his familiar smile, making the color travel to my cheeks.

“Guessing you don’t get on,” Jace says, looking my way then back to the TV. “Nice to meet you Ashton. You know Jordan, right?”

“Yep, can’t say he likes me though,” Ashton jokes. I always found it rather funny to watch the actions between Jordan and Ashton.

“Can you blame him? I don’t think he likes anyone now. I mean, I fucking hate him and he’s my own flesh and blood.” These words were a little strong and my eyes flicker over Jace’s face and there is no emotion upon it, no pain, no hate, and no smile just nothing. It’s the first time that I see something honest about his brother that comes out of his mouth.

“Well, maybe you shouldn’t have been such a dickhead and let my sister walk all over you,” Tyler says, sending a glare in my direction. Ashton didn’t speak. “Everyone knows she is a slut whether she’s going to say it or not, and Ashton you know I don’t like you.”

“Ty,” I start but as soon as I open my mouth to say the next line Tyler cuts me off.

“Sis, I love you but you have made some rather stupid mistakes in your life, haven’t you?” My mind fills with flashes of memories of staying on the fire a lot longer than I would like. I could see the flames, I could hear the screams and I knew it was one of the many mistakes I’ve made in my life. I didn’t know how to make everything perfect. I didn’t even know what perfection was. I’ve never had that, so I have no idea what it is.

“Well, nobody's perfect,” I say and Ashton kisses me on the neck. I smile but I don't know if it's real or not.

“I think that was a little unfair. Also answer me this, if there’s a girl and you're single, you don’t know her story or who she is and she doesn’t want anything. Are you honestly going to tell me you’re going to turn down a girl who begs you for sex?”

“I didn’t beg you,” I say brushing my fingers through his hair.  ”I just teased you until you said yes.” Ashton rolls his eyes before he pulls me just a little bit closer towards him.

“And this is why Scarlett is not normal and is incredibly weird and strange,” Carter says as he throws me a smirk which I roll my eyes to.
