We talked constantly, but just to each other not to other groups. When we Captain saw that the donors were done he dismissed us. Me and Jack got up and left.
When we were away from the dining hall we ran all the way to my door. We laugh then something dawned on me. I was about to give up a pint of my blood to Jack. I started to feel faint. "What is it Claire?" Jack looked worried.
"I just realized that you have to bite me, don't you?" He looked at me and then surprised me.
"No."
"How?"
"I'll explain." He opened the door and pulled me inside. I sat on the edge of the love seat. "I've been talking to the Captain about your nightmares. Saying you didn't want me to bite you and that I promised I wouldn't. We came up with this idea, a blood donation kit." He pulled out the bag, the tube and the needle. I started to get faint again and I started to sway. Jack caught me before I fell flat on my face.
I chuckle a bit, "I hate needles a little less than the thought of you biting me."
"It's okay I've been practicing and you'll be distracted." He got the kit ready and I laid back on the loveseat with my left hand out on the arm rest. "Start talking."
"About what?"
"Explain dinner like you were telling it to a blind person." I took a breath and closed my eyes. "When you first walk up when you're a new donor your nerves are in jumbles. You can't control it." My arm started to go numb. "I noticed that most donors were in their mid-30 and were mostly women. They were all dressed in a range of centuries and so were the vampires." I continued explaining every single little detail I saw.
I opened my eyes after to see Jack sitting on the floor, drinking from the blood bag and writing down everything I said. I looked at my arm to see a bandage over the vein. I let Jack write and I got up and went to change. Afterwards I crawled in bed and fell half asleep. I heard the book close.
Jack got up and was muttering something under his breath. I smelled blood in the air. I didn't like it one bit. Jack started to walk towards me and his lips brushed my forehead. He hopped on top of the comforter and wrapped his arms around me and sighed. He started to hum my lullaby and I drifted into sleep.
