"Slytherin" I heard the sorting hat announce. My heart dropped.

"Slytherin?" I repeated, softly.

"Slytherin, this fifth year is undoubtedly, a Slytherin" it repeated. I gulped. Slytherin. I was a Slytherin. Not a Gryffindor a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff. A bloody Slytherin, a snake. I'd done so much research. How... How did I end up a Slytherin?

"A-Are you sure?" I asked.

"Positive, you have many of the qualities of a Slytherin, therefore I put you in Slytherin, and so far, I haven't been wrong." The hat announced. I sighed.

"Thank you..." I mumbled, as I removed the hat.

I looked to the staff. You see, I was in Dumbledoor's office, getting a tour of the campus, and finding out where I stand as a witch. Professor snape smirked at me. He was in charge of me now. I smiled sweetly.

"Slytherin? You do not look like you possess the qualities of a Slytherin..." Snape commented. I looked at my feet.

"Believe me... I'm just as surprised as you are professor..." I commented. He smirked.

"On second thought... You'd make a fine Slytherin... Might I direct miss Corrine to the Slytherin house?" Snape asked. I gulped. Dumbledoor nodded. I slowly walked to Professor Snape, scared out of my mind. Snape ushered me out of Dumbledoor's office as the other staff hurriedly followed behind Snape. I kept pace with Snape, hoping not to fall behind and get lost. I've read about that. I don't plan on being the first pure blood witch, to have my first year at Hogwarts be a fifth year, and then turn around to find that I'm lost. I shivered. No, no, that's not an option. I shook my head and continued with Snape all the way till we came to the common room. I gulped. It's a good thing it's the day before this year begins, I'd probably be trampled witch by now. Snape opened the door. I looked inside. It was cosy for a Slytherin house. I smiled. Maybe being a Slytherin wouldn't be so bad after all.
