Today was very eventful. Thankfully there wasn't much homework and I was able to finish. Though in Defense Against The Dark Arts I couldn't help but let my mind wonder, where do I know that Umbridge from? I starred at the cover of my book, trying to figure it out. But I just couldn't. I sighed and opened the book, recognizing all the pages immediately. Hey. Wait a second. I've already read this book. I've already learned everything from it. I raised my hand and Umbridge walked over.
"I hope I'm not disrupting anything, professor, I just noticed that I already-"
"Oh, Dear, I know you have Ms. Snaproot. Could I ask you to help me as a teacher assistant for the other students? I know that's a lot to ask, but I know you've already mastered this class. I can't forget records like yours, Ms. Snaproot." Umbridge announced. My jaw unhinged from my upper lip.
"Y-you... Wait... Huh?" I asked.
"Surely you remember, Corrine. I was there to give you your certificate of promotion." Professor Umbridge announced. I widened my eyes. By Merlins Beard! That's where I knew her from! Delirious Umbridge! She was there at my house!
"Um... What would you like me to do?" I asked.
"Just walk around the classroom, make sure nobody is causing any trouble. Of course you know the rules I presume?" She asked. I smiled and nodded.
"No wands." I announced. That was pretty much drilled into my brain since last year. I was scolded many times if I used a wand. Of course they never said anything about wandless magic. I taught myself wandless magic, back when I first found out I couldn't use a wand. You see, the ministry took the trace off of me so they could teach me without any complications. So I'm a underage, traceless, wandless Magic trained, ministry approved, witch. So that means no penalties for using both wandless and wand full, Magic. I stood up and walked around. Everyone gave me death glares as I walked by, and then turned the page as if they were actually reading. Well, all except Harry, Ron, Hermione, Crabbe, Goyle, and Draco. So basically the majority of the class were starring me down. I walked up and down the isles, scanning for any traces off wands, until I was tripped. Pansy. Of course it was Pansy. Umbridge looked up from her desk and looked to me in concern.
"Ms. Snaproot, are you alright?" Umbridge asked. I glared at Pansy and stood up.
"Yes professor, I'm alright. I just tripped over a satchel, that's all." I announced through gritted teeth. Pansy's not worth my time. Umbridge nodded.
"Ms. Parkinson, please put your satchel on the back of your seat and not in the Isle. Thank you, dear" Umbridge announced. Pansy glared at me and put her satchel on the back of her seat. I could have sworn she growled at me. I continued down the isles until Umbridge called me to her desk, flicked her wrist, and made a chair appear. She patted the chair. I came forward, drew in a deep breath, and sat with my back straight, and hands in lap, like Cornelius Fudge taught me. I starred blankly at the class, getting occasional glances from distressed students. At one point, Pansy started making funny faces at me to try to get me to make a noise (but since her face was already funny looking, I was practically immune) but Umbridge caught her and gave her a detention. Soon class ended and I didn't get any homework. I drew in another deep breath and stood up.
"Professor?" I asked, once everyone left.
"Why, yes, Ms. Snaproot?" Umbridge replied. I smiled.
"Thank you, it's been lovely." I thanked and headed to my seat to grab my satchel.
"It's to be just as lovely tomorrow, is it not?" Umbridge asked. I stopped in my tracks.
"Huh?" I asked.
"You didn't think this was a one time thing did you?" Umbridge asked.
"Well..." I trailed off.
"Ha, you were always a humorous one, Corrine. I'll see you tomorrow, before class if you please. I'd like to give you something so everyone knows that you are a teacher assistant this term. Carry on, Ms. Snaproot." Umbridge announced. I grabbed my satchel.
"Have a good afternoon, professor Umbridge." I announced, and walked out of the classroom, slowly closed the door, and booked it to the Owl infirmary. I didn't stop till I got there. I pulled my hair on the side of my head. Umbridge was at my house. She was there that day. And now she wants me to be her teacher assistant? Has this gone to my head? I released my hair and shook my head. Then I leaned on the wall. God, I could sure use my Pan right now.
"Corrine, you alright, lass?" Asked a voice. I turned to the voice. It was Fred and George.
"Yeah... Sure... Maybe... I-I don't know..." I announced, grabbing the hair on the top of my head, and clenching my other hand into a fist.
"You seem stressed." Fred announced.
"No Shit Sherlock." I replied. Wow I really needed my pan.
"Whoa, take it easy, Corrine. We are just here to help." George announced.
"Yeah, lass, we've noticed, you haven't been the same since you're return from the hospital wing." Fred added.
"There's multiple reasons for that." I thought, releasing my hair.
"Do you want to talk about it?" They asked.
"Dear Merlin! Did I say that out loud?" I asked. Both nodded. I shook my head. I was starting to shake. "I... Uh... Gotta..." I stuttered, then cocked my head sideways, and looked behind them. "Someone should really tell Dumbledoor that's not a good place to keep a piano." I announced. Fred and George turned around and I made a break for it down the stairs, and B lined for Myrtles Loo. I shut and locked the door behind me, gasping for air.
"Back so soon, Corrine?" Myrtle asked. I nodded.
"I have a lot going on right now." I announced, through my gasps of breaths. Myrtle nodded. I smiled once I got my breath back. "I'm having a major case of déjà vu right now." I admitted, combing my hair out of my face with my fingers.
"As am I" Myrtle announced. I laughed.
"Mind if I stay here a bit, Myrtle?" I asked, pulling out my pan from my pocket.
"You know my rules." She announced, and then floated down to the sink, and sat on its edge. I nodded and started to play. It's a good thing it's free period. I played a good two songs, before there was a pounding on the door. I stopped playing abruptly and looked to Myrtle. "Who is it?" Myrtle called through the door.
"Harry, Ron, and Hermione, Myrtle, open up." Hermione announced. I gave Myrtle a look of pure fear.
"Why should I let you in?" Myrtle asked.
"Is Corrine in there, Myrtle? Fred and George have us worried about her." Harry announced. I shook my head and hid behind the sinks.
"No, sorry. Haven't seen her in a while actually. Would you tell her hi if you find her?" Myrtle asked. There was a groan.
"Yes we will. Thank you Myrtle." Hermione thanked. I walked to the door and made sure that there were steps that walked away. I sighed and unlocked the door. I peaked out. No one. Thank Merlin.
"Thanks, Myrtle. See you later." I whispered. I was cautious. I ran all the way to the Slytherin common room, without a trace. I slowed down and walked up to the portrait hole.
"Password?" It asked.
"Pure-blo-"
"Corrine?"
I widened my eyes."Pure-blood." I restated, and quickly walked through the hole, and shut it behind me. I need to get to my dorm. I walked forward.
"Enny?"
Bloody hell. I ignored it and walked right up to my room. I needed to relax.
