I sat down at a tree close to the lake. I shivered. It was cold enough to have frozen over the entire lake, solid. But it was probably a good idea to test it out before I do what I plan on doing. You see, right now, it's late November, early December, during my potions class that I was supposed to be taking, but still haven't been notified that I can come back to class. So now here I am, making my ice skates appear out of thin air with my wand and lacing them up on my feet/legs. I stood up comfortably and looked around for something big and hard. I saw a big rock and pulled my wand out of my robe pocket. I tossed it one to the lake. It landed with a crash, but didn't break the top layer. I smiled, and removed the rock. Finally, Ice skating is my life. Let me explain. Dad said I couldn't join Quidditch a few years back, so he put me in something a little more... Graceful and less life threatening, thus Ice Skating. You see my parents thought I was going to be a normal muggle kid like my little brother and sister, last year. So they didn't sign me up for Hogwarts. But then I started showing magic potential, and the ministry confirmed I was, in fact, a pure blood witch. I was way to much to handle alone with my parents, so they left it up to the ministry to teach me the ways of a witch, while my brother and sister watched me enviously, from the time they got out of school tills dinner. You see I was taught only a few hours a day about magic. But I progressed better then any student they had ever had. Then I was placed in Hogwarts this year and... Ta da... Here I am 4 months later, with some of the best grades in my class, and two free periods. I smiled and finally gained enough confidence to step out on the lake. Oh the thrill! It was so nice to be back on skates, practicing all my tricks, like my "internet famous" (as my muggle friends call it) Tripple jump (A jump with three full rotations, 1080 degrees, in the air, 3 and a half rotations for the triple axel) or my many sets Twizzle's' in a row (A quick multi-rotational turn on one foot while moving forwards or backwards.) which I have been told are extremely difficult to achieve at my level. But I am taught by the best. And with my skating partner, Marcus "FireFlake" Johnson (FireFlake because he moves so fast that he melts falling snow flakes, while he's skating) there's nothing stopping me from doing such high level acrobatics on the Ice. That's my motto on the Ice by the way. Practice makes perfect, but once you've preformed in front of the judges, leave it all on the Ice.
I pushed off the ice and did a famous Tripple Jump... With crapy foot work at the end causing me to fall on my stomach. Damn. Have I really been that long out of practice? I got up and did another Tripple Jump, this time landing it, but still a bit to clumsily for my taste. I focused and gained some speed, and then attempted a final Tripple Jump. Everything seemed to be in slow motion as I span, the first, the second, the third, and then the landing, I landed, with one leg lifted behind me and my arms straight out. Wonderful... I've never actually been able to land on one foot before, and have been scolded many times for it. I looked backwards to make sure I still had room to attempt a set of Twizzle's. Nope, to close to the tree. I pushed off my one leg ad gained speed, making sure I'd have space this time. I then started in a circular motion and brought my arms in tight, while maintaining balance on my one foot, spinning incredibly fast, then as I came to a slower spin I did a single jump out of my Twizzle's and ended in my signature pose, back toe pecked into the ice, behind my front foot which stood sharply in place and well balanced, my left hand on my hip, and my right stretched above my head my palm facing the Sun. I always ended in this position because Marcus always took the exact opposite of me. I smiled as I remembered the first time Marcus and I did our finishing poses. From then it's been the same since. I opened my eyes almost forgetting that I was at Hogwarts and not the Ice rink. I heard clapping and whistles and came back to reality. There stood about 35 students, starring right at me. Draco being one of them. And Harry, Hermione, and Ron being three others. I smiled and did one trick that I had attempted but hadn't successfully accomplished... Until today. I speed up and did the most dangerous and daring jump I've ever done in my entire life. The Death Drop (A type of flying entry into a spin). I watched as the entire world was flipped upside down and then reverted to its original state. I smiled. I had actually Just done a Death Drop successfully. I skated to the edge of the ice and skid to a stop, sending snow up and flying into the air and all over the many spectators that I apparently attracted. I bowed as they began to cheer again.
"I didn't know I had an audience, otherwise I would have don my whole routine for you guys" I laughed, taking out my wand and flicking my wrist so that I changed from my skates to my boots.
"Corrine! That was incredible! I've never seen anything like it!" Ron gushed, as soon as my skates were off. I blushed.
"I was... Enjoying my free period... Speaking of which... I didn't even hear the bell ring" I stated sheepishly.
"Potions got out early, because Neville mixed up the wrong ingredients in his cauldron, and it created a huge explosion." Harry explained. I gasped.
"Oh my goodness, does he need help?" I asked very concerned.
"He's already up in the hospital wing, he'll be fine. Corrine, you gotta teach me how to do that!" Ron exclaimed. I laughed.
"whoa il , ralentir ami
Ice skating is not something you can just teach. It takes skill, agility, flare, style, proper etiquette, and balance" I stated, sternly."What did you say in the beginning?" Ron asked. I remembered what I said and laughed.
"whoa il , ralentir ami?" I asked. Ron nodded. I laughed again.
"Sorry Ron, it's French for whoa there, slow down friend. I picked up a bit of it from my Ice Skating Partner and partial teacher, Marcus "FireFlake" " I snickered. I can't believe I accidentally used it, without even thinking. I do spend way to much time with Marcus.
"Oh... How do you know French?" Ron asked. I laughed a little harder. I watched as the spectators sat down and waited for my answer as I sat down by the tree. I sighed.
"Well, when Marcus first came to my Ice rink, he was a full on French. Nobody understood what he was saying. I started learning the language, just as he was adjusting to English. So now Marcus and I are Frenchlish buddy's because we both speak, write, and read, fluent French and English. If we want something to be private we will start speaking in French. Or if we just want to confuse people... Speaking of which, I have to send a letter to him soon, telling him that I will be attending that Ice Skating Summer Camp this year..." I trailed off. Everyone looked at me in awe.
"Can you say something cute to me?" Asked a Slytherin boy. I nodded.
"Je ne suis pas intéressé à une relation avec vous" I stated, with a sweet smile. He smiled back. But Hermione was the only one who actually knew what I said, and she was doing her best not to burst out in laughter. I had said I was not interested in a relationship with him. Of course he didn't know that.
"Wow. That was really pretty" he commented. I smiled and turned to Hermione.
"si seulement il savait ce que je viens de dire de lui" I stated with a laugh. Hermione nodded and laughed too. Maybe Hermione would be my Frenchlish buddy at school.
"What else can you do?" Asked a voice I knew well.
"en fait pas grand chose d'autre ... Je peux chanter un peu ... pas vraiment danser ... et des trucs" I stated with a shrug. Hermione was about to burst.
"What the bloody hell is she saying?!" Draco asked. Hermione couldn't hold back any longer. She laughed so hard that it hurt her sides.
"Hermione , Draco dire que Im simplement complmenting comment blonde qui lui est vraiment" I stated and looked to Draco for a response. Hermione nodded.
"She says she was simply complementing you..." Hermione stated.
"Oh... Uh... How do you say thanks in French?" Draco asked.
"Merci" Hermione stated simply. Draco shoved Hermione to the side.
"I wasn't asking you Mudblood" Draco spat, with as much venom as possible. I scowled at Draco.
"Personne appelle mes amis , en particulier les noms Sang de Bourbe , vous slytherin malade!" I yelled at Draco. I grabbed Hermione's hand and stormed out of there.
