Harry can't sleep. It's practically silent in the apartment; he can just barely hear Eloise's light snores coming from her bedroom. The world outside the window seems dead. There's no wind, no cars making their way down the street, and he can't even hear an owl. Of course, this does nothing to loosen the knot in his chest.
Today. His baby boy will be safe in his arms once again in a few mere hours. He feels like throwing up he's so nervous. Every time he sits behind his computer screen waiting for Louis to accept his Skype call, Harry becomes apprehensive. How is he supposed to survive waiting at the airport?
He swings his legs over the side of the couch, sitting up and rubbing at his eyes. It's practically 5:30, which means that he should probably wake Eloise up. Louis' flight just took off, leaving them merely two hours to get ready. Well, two hours to get ready to leave to pick Louis up that is, seeing as Harry has been rushing around all week to make sure that everything is ready for when his baby arrives. He went grocery shopping to get Louis' favorite foods, he vacuumed the guest bedroom about four times and made sure there were clean sheets and blankets on the beds. Eloise had to drag Harry to work the other day since he wouldn't go on his own. What if something wasn't ready in time? He certainly had to stay home and keep fixing up the place, he had thought.
"Eloise!" Harry yells, running into her bedroom and flinging himself on top of her. "Wake up! Louis' coming!"
She rolled over, pushing Harry onto the floor. "Cool. Now let me sleep."
"You can't sleep. We have to leave soon. Get up." When she doesn't budge, he grabs her arm and yanks her down onto the floor as well. "You need to shower, wow."
She half-heartedly smacks him. "Ass."
"Yeah, yeah. Now let's get going!"
It doesn't take Harry nearly as long as he thought it would for him to get ready. All he had to do was throw on some jeans and that lilac sweater that Louis loves after he showered. Eloise tells him to eat something, but if he does he's afraid he might throw up. Instead, he flips through channels, bouncing his knee up and down and texting Gemma. She had made Harry promise to take her with him to the airport and, like her brother, she has been up for hours, anxiously waiting.
"Let's go meet your boyfriend!" Eloise eventually shouts, slinging her purse over her shoulder and pulling out her car keys. "God, I'm so happy I can drive again. I was getting so sick and tired of that concussion."
Before she even finishes speaking, Harry is already out the door and nearly to the elevator. It only takes about 15 minutes to pick up Gemma, and then they're on their way to the airport. Harry's nearly having a panic attack. He has no idea why he's so anxious. Louis obviously loves him and there's no way he could suddenly stop just upon his arrival. And yet, Harry feels as though he could scream.
"Almost there!" Gemma squeals excitedly from the back seat, clapping your hands. "When does his flight land?"
"Erm." He checks his phone, only to then notice a text from Louis. "In a about half an hour. Shit, we've gotta hurry."
Eloise pulls into the airport's parking lot, laughing slightly. "H, chill. He can't go anywhere without you."
He glares at her. "If we were meeting Kat instead of Lou, you'd want to get to her as soon as possible."
"He's got you there," Gemma smirks.
"I hate you guys."
Harry really wants to meet him at his gate, but getting there proves to be a bit harder than they expected. They accidentally mix up the gates, going to Gate 4C instead of 4A, and he's beginning to shake so badly he can hardly walk. Actually, he might just pass out.
