Louis is scheduled to show up at the hotel around lunch time tomorrow and Harry still hasn't answered any of his text messages.
Louis' a wreck, to be honest. He knew when they first started talking that he shouldn't get too emotionally attached and yet here he is, on the verge of tears. He really likes Harry. Really, really likes Harry.
And Harry won't answer him. And Louis isn't so sure he wants to go tomorrow after all. Instead, he thinks he'll just stay home and cry all day. Though that isn't too different from the usual.
He just misses Harry and his quirky good morning texts, his goofiness, and stupid jokes that make Louis laugh, though he will never admit to it.
While all this is going on at Louis' place, Harry is still blabbering on about Jo, and Eloise wishes she could get her own hotel room so that she won't have to share with him. She is two hundred percent done with his shit and still absolutely fuming over his choice and he's acting like he could care less about Louis' feelings.
Harry's phone vibrates, signaling yet another text from Louis that he won't respond to. Eloise gives him a questioning glance from her spot on one of the beds. It's then that she notices the two haven't been talking as frequently.
"Have you told him?" she asks quietly.
He looks up, startled. "No! Why would I? It doesn't concern him."
"Yes it does!" Eloise suddenly becomes nervous, not for herself, but for Louis. "Harry," she says cautiously, "when was the last time you answered him?"
"Um, two days ago?"
"Harry!" she screams. "What is your problem? The poor boy probably thinks you hate him! You don't have to ignore him just because you've boarded the Ho ship. He's coming tomorrow, get your shit together."
Harry eyes his phone anxiously. He knows Eloise is right and yet, he can't bring himself to answer. Louis' sent him nearly two hundred messages and, from what he can tell, he's completely devastated.
Cutie Louis: do you hate me? I'm sorry if I did something wrong, but please answer me, Harry. Please.
What is he doing do this boy? And what is this boy doing to him? And why is everything so crazy and mixed up and confusing lately? That's what Harry would like to know.
So he asks Louis if he's still coming tomorrow and apologizes for being an asshat and says that he genuinely doesn't know why he didn't respond, but it's probably because, as he already stated, he's an asshat.
And Louis says that it's okay, he forgives Harry, and of course he's still coming. Why wouldn't he? He still wants to hang out with the loser that has become his best friend.
And then Harry has to go. Already. Because he has a date with Jo, but he fails to mention this to Louis.
Louis says goodbye to Harry and what overwhelming ecstaticness he felt from Harry's reply vanishes. He curls up in his bed, wrapped tightly in the covers with his small kitten cuddling next to him, and wishes he had told Harry the one thing that he had held back.
Because while Harry holds back information about why he's leaving, Louis holds back information about why he cares so much, why he sent all those text messages when he was clearly going to get no response.
He holds back the fact that he loves Harry so much it hurts and when he was ignored for two days it kind of broke him inside.

When Harry finally stumbles back into the hotel room at eleven o'clock, it's with that girl draped across his arm and her lips seemingly suction cupped to his neck. She accidentally kicks the trashcan while Harry closes the door, which startles Eloise. She cautiously steps out of the bathroom, hair wrapped in a towel and pajamas on.
"Harry? What are you doing?"
"Go away, Little Mermaid," Jo says, waving her hand in Eloise's general direction before reattaching herself to the same spot on his neck.
"Excuse me?" Eloise asks.
Jo sighs and turns to her with her arms crossed. "I said-"
"I heard what you said, Jo." And her voice is sickly sweet, the smile plastered on her face attempting to hide an overwhelming amount of anger. "Now get. Out."
"Harry wants me here," Jo says, and tilts her head to whisper to Harry, and he can feel her breath on his ear and the back of his neck. It causes a shiver to run through his body. "Don't you, Harry?"
Eloise snaps then, storming over to this girl and yanking at the back of her crop top, throwing her out of the hotel room clawing and screaming. She locks the door behind Jo and sends Harry a glare so hard that he can't meet her eyes, can only glance around the walls awkwardly.
"I cannot believe you dumped Louis for trash like that," she growls, readjusting the towel on her head. "And how in God's name did a friendly little walk in the park turn into almost having sex? What the actual fuck, Harry?"
Harry doesn't say a word, just stands in the doorway, rubbing at the back of his neck. It's too late for this crap, honestly, and Eloise is not going to put up with it. Louis doesn't deserve to be treated like this and he sure as heck does not deserve to find Harry with a girl's arm wrapped around him, especially an annoying ass girl like Jo.
"If you have any decency at all you'll stay away from her," Eloise spits her name out as if it's venom on her tongue, "the entire time Louis is here. Got it?"
Harry doesn't move, or even acknowledge that he's heard her.
"Some gentleman you are," she grunts with a heavy sigh. Wringing out her hair and brushing through it, Eloise gets into her bed and shuts off the light, ignoring Harry as he hops in the shower, making as much noise as possible.
When he dries off he finds his best friends passed out, snoring slightly and wrinkling her nose up from time to time. He smiles slightly, remembering how when they were little Harry used to call her 'Bunny' because she reminded him so much of one.
Once he slips on a pair of boxers, he pushes back Eloise's hair from her face and presses a soft kiss to her forehead. She is his best friend after all, and he knows that she's just looking out for him, even if he does like Jo.
"Goodnight, Bunny," he murmurs and climbs into his own bed.
Harry doesn't fall asleep right away. He stares blankly at the ceiling, like he has for countless nights before, mulling over things. Mainly, he's wondering what it will be like when Louis finally gets here. Harry can't wait, he really can't. They get to spend nearly three whole days together!
He rolls onto his side and stares out the window, the anxiousness keeping him wide awake. And maybe, he thinks, Eloise might be right. Maybe he is in love with Louis. Or, at least, has a major crush on him.
But no, that's impossible. Harry's not gay. He can't be. It's not right, not normal. People will hate him!
No, he decides, wiping a few tears from his cheeks. No, he's not gay. He has Jo.
Harry didn't think this trip would be this much of catastrophe when he first set out. And he certainly didn't think that while he was looking for his soulmate that maybe he'd find himself as well.
A/N: I ended up getting a chapter out today only because I wrote half of it yesterday. There will definitely NOT be one Friday because I have to babysit. There should, however, be an update tomorrow. I'm not sure about Thursday, though.
So, you met Jo, aha. What'd you think of her?
