Forbidden Love

Chapter 2

Walking on a lonely street with nothing but street lights as company, She kept walking towards her best friend's place for the beach party. She was totally unaware that she was being followed by someone or perhaps 'something'.

"Hold on Serena, I'll be there in 10 minutes..."

The street lights started to flicker uncontrollably and she suddenly felt like someone was watching her every move. Quickening her steps she started to walk faster looking back every now and then.
Within a flash a dark figure hidden from the light of the street lamps stood before her. His eyes had a blood lust look in it as if he had been starving for decades.

Suddenly with the blink of an eye he was standing right in front of her moving closer and closer...

"Where are you going this late Caroline?"
His voice so smooth crept through her ears. She saw it was none other than the mysterious Derek Ryder.
Relieved she started to breath normally, her pounding heart slowed to its regular beats. But still the look in his eyes scared her a little. It somehow reminded her of a hungry animal who hadn't had anything to eat for days.

"D-Derek... I'm so glad it's you. I was scared to death. For one second there I thought some murderer was following me. I'm just off to Serena's beach party, you know right? The one which you declined when she invited you."
A smile played on his lips, as much as it made him look even more Hot and sexier it also sent a tingle down her spine. Moving closer to her he smiled one of his rare smile's once more.

"I believe I remember... Caroline."

She kept staring at his heavenly eyes while the only thing he could hear was her loud heart beat and the blood gushing through her veins throughout her entire body. He couldn't take his eyes off of her exposed neck.

"You know Caroline, you smell good tonight. I'm getting a wonderful scent from you." He took hold of a few strands of her hair and let it slip through his fingers.
It surprised her a lot that THE Derek Ryder of Mectro High was talking to her.
He was the most famous around school, grabbing everyone's attention. Every girl in school would kill to have a conversation with him and hear she was standing in a lonely street having him walk up to her and talk to her as if they were close friends.

"Thanks Derek... I umm... started using a new hair conditioner." He moved even closer, their noses almost touching.,
"That's not what I meant".
He moved his head slightly to the right, his lips almost touching her long bare neck, He felt his fangs trying to break out.
"D-Derek.. wh-what are you doing?"
What?
He soon pulled back staring at Caroline in disbelief.

Damn... what the hell am I doing? I can't believe I lost control.. 

He soon took a step back and looked at her frightened face closely. She had her eyes shut tight. Sweat dripping down the side of her face, lips quivering.
Sighing he ran his fingers through his messy hair

"I'm sorry Caroline.. I didn't mean to scare you. I was just teasing you." She looked up at him her lips slightly apart. She gave a nervous smile.

Before he lost control again he had to do something. taking hold of her face by the chin gently, he made her look at him directly into his eyes. At first she was confused and then her expression changed from confusion to a blank look. Derek compelled Caroline to forget ever meeting him by the Oak tree and of what ever that had happened. Her eyelids started to flutter and then she collapsed into his arms.
Carrying her gently he sped towards Serena's place.
