Everything was back to normal. Nothing seemed out of place. Yet a certain vampire slayer had difficulties in separating what was true and what was not. After that incident which took place a month ago Saera had started losing herself.
She had woken up from the cold floor to the ringing of her phone, which wouldn't stop its earth shattering noise unless she swiped the screen to answer. It was past 8 in the evening. No wonder her Mom had left her countless amounts of missed calls and messages.
Everything around Saera was a blur. The moon outside shone brightly as its light illuminated on her face. She was barely able to get to her feet. Groaning slightly, She leaned on a table for support. Saera kept a hand to her chest and felt her hearts quick beats. Her head was in a mist. She couldn't clear her thoughts. Struggling to stand straight without crashing onto the nearby tables, she made her way out of the school grounds and managed to walk her way home. While her lonely walk back home, her mind was on what had happened a while back. Her body started to shiver. Saera couldn't make out if it was due to cold night air or due to fear.
Her front door opened suddenly revealing an angry-worried Mom standing by the doorway.
"Where have you been young lady!?" Do you know what time it is? I was scared to death Saera! If your going to be home late, at least let me know before hand." It was very well clear that her Mom was beyond freaking pissed. Saera could care less. She had more on her head than to worry about her Mom. She just walked past her Mom without a word. Her expression neutral.
"Saera? Whats going on?" Still no reply from her daughter.
"Baby, you okay? You look pale." To this Saera stiffened which didn't go unnoticed by her mom. Saera's mother lifted an eye wondering what's going on with her daughter's strange behavior.
"I'm fine Mom. I just had some unfinished homework to do. I'm tired, eat dinner without me. I'm heading to bed." Saera rushed to her room, toppling on stuff halfway cause her legs still felt wobbly.
Mrs Forbes was no fool. She didn't need her vampire slayer instincts to guess something was wrong with her daughter. What are you hiding Saera?
Saera shut her bedroom door and slid to the ground sighing. She was beyond exhausted. She didn't know what would have happened if she had remained any longer in the hallway with her deadly Mom. Saera brushed her hair aside. The place on the side of her neck, where her fingers touched had a tingling pain. She got to her feet and walked to her bed side mirror to inspect and to her horror found two punch hole marks. Is.. Is that drops of blood? That part of her neck was slightly swollen and itchy.
Her head started to pain. She desperately tried to think of ways to hide the marks. I can't let Granma or Mom see this! What am I going to do? How could I have let this happen?
She stared at herself in the mirror but all she could see was the heart shattering golden eyes which belonged to a certain someone. Someone she knew she had been interested on. Someone who was never to be the one she expected him to be. Instead of his gorgeous flawless face she pictured his face that of a killer. The face which caused terror to her heart. The golden eyes was a deep crimson red now. Saera banged her head on the mirror forcing the image out of her throbbing head. She grabbed some disinfectants, bandaged her wound, stripped her clothes, got into a pajama and fell to a dreamless sleep.
