Forbidden Love

Chapter 22

Never in a million years would anyone have guessed mysterious, silent and lonely Derek could be such a wild monster.
Sean, Cole and the other vampire Ken were in such a mess the doctors would mistake them for bloody corpses. But nothing could hold Derek back. His mind was clouded. His vision blurred with nothing but Hatred and rage.
They had hurt the most precious thing to him. He wasn't going to let go of them so easily.
They struggled to fight back, but were no match to a Gifted Vampire whatsoever.
Out of nowhere strong hands caught Derek from the back and pulled him away from the three almost unconscious vampires. Thrusting, kicking out and yelling like an animal in pain he whirled around to face who ever it was who had dared to disturb him and rip their throat out. But then, he stopped midway.
It was Steven, and Kathedra right beside him.
At first he was surprised to see the two of them but then his fierce glare returned. Derek didn't care if his step siblings were here, he was going to finish these three off no matter what!
Pulling his hand away and freeing himself from Steven's strong grasp he turned over to lunge at Sean once again.
"That's quite enough Derek! You've caused enough damage. There's nothing more you can do to hurt them." Derek wasn't listening. He didn't give a damn to what his stepbrother was blabbering. All he could think was to avenge Saera.
The thought was deeply instilled in his mind. He had to make them pay!
Derek tried pushing Steven aside but his brother gripped him more tightly.
"I said that's Enough!" Steven bellowed looking pissed and ticked off his eyes turning a deep shade of red.

That's when Kathedra stepped in. She had remained silent but looking at the situation she knew she had to make a move before things got ugly.
Never in all her years of living with Derek had she seen him act so irrational and savage. She never thought the silent boy had it in him.
Kathedra placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"Derek, get the Slayer and Human boy away from here. The girl has lost so much blood, she needs medical attention at once. I'm afraid it will be too late if you don't move fast Derek. We'll take care of things here, you get going." Derek looked up at her. She was quite a few inches taller than he was. He stared at her then at Saera and understood what she meant. Closing his eyes he took a deep breath to calm himself down. When opened his eyes were their natural golden.
He took his hand away which was gripping Steven's collar and made his way to Saera.
Gently placing an arm under her legs and another beneath her head, he lifted her up holding her close to his chest. I'll protect you no matter what. Hang in there Saera.

Derek looked at his friend who was still glued to the cold pavement, his face pale and expressionless.
He couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy.
"Kevin let's go." But Kevin didn't budge an inch. He was in too much shock to lift a finger.
Derek started boiling all over. He was losing patience. Time was ticking away and every second that passed he knew it meant risking Saera's life.
"Damn it Kevin. This is no time to lie around. Saera is dying, we have to get her treated fast! We have to go now... Please." That caught Kevin's attention. The pleading tone of his best friend.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he quickly scrambled to his feet and rushed to Derek.
"I'm sorry. For everything that's happened today. I promise I'll tell you everything. No more secrets. But for now, trust me and follow me okay?" Kevin nodded solemnly.

With a final glance at his step siblings and a menacing glare at Sean, Derek along with Kevin and Saera lying lifeless in his arm sped towards his house in the speed of light. If one had taken time and looked closely, they would have managed to catch a glimpse of a tear which had escaped Derek's eye and if he had not been too occupied he would have been able to feel his dead motionless heart, beating a slow rhythm.

Updated new chap!!!!! It's kind of short compared to my other chapters but bear with me... I really wanted to update soon. The next one would be a much better chap ^_^
