There was a knock on the front door. Serena rushed to open her front door still awaiting her late best friend. Though once she opened it standing out on her front patio wasn't Caroline but someone she never expected to see.
"Derek? Is that you? What are you..." Her eyes fell on the form in his arms. Shock was written all over her face. "Caroline.. Oh my god.. what happened? Is she alright?" She started to panic so Derek rested a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"Hold on a second.. Don't fret.. She's totally fine. I saw her unconscious by the big Oak tree in Town so I brought her here figuring from her clothes this might be where she was heading, right?" his voice was so cool and smooth it could make any girl swoon and blush even if it was an insult. Serena nodded and asked him to come inside to which he kindly declined once again. Slowly he placed Caroline by the door and started to leave.
"Thanks for inviting me but sorry I'll have to say no once again, there's something else I've got to do" like hunt down a rabbit or something before I loose control over a human again.
He looked at her once again ' Oh and be careful whom you invite into your house, not everyone are whom they seem to be" saying so he waved and turned back and left without another word.
Derek rarely spoke to anyone so Serena was still mesmerized that he had come over to her house, even if he hadn't come inside. And she was slightly confused on what he said before he left. Soon she called out to her friend Adam to help her take Caroline inside.Once he saw that they had safely closed the door Derek sprinted towards the woods before he hurt someone.
