Derek held onto his throat tightly unable to hold back his thirst for blood. For so long he had suppressed the urge to rip a person's neck and feel the blood within his lips. It's been 3 weeks since he drank proper blood.
Unlike other Vampires, Derek did not hunt down his prey and suck their blood.
He didn't want to hurt innocent lives. He survived with only animal blood or the blood he took from the hospital blood bank.
But recently he hasn't been able to suppress his hunger and he yearned to taste human blood.
Just the thought of blood made Derek faintish.
He could feel a weird tingling on the upper part of his mouth.
Derek started to isolate himself even more from humanity. He stopped going to school much because he was sure he won't be able to control himself and might end up doing something he would regret forever.
Sitting on top of the Old Oak tree he kept thinking of his cursed life of misery.
"Why did she have to save me? she should have just let me die. I'm now suffering even more than back then when I was in death bed while a human"
He sighed loudly.
A woman with flashing red hair and cold piercing icy blue eyes appeared in his mind. For the past century he's been calling her his Mom. She loved him as her own son after she lost hers' at a fire breakout.
Derek started remembering the past when he was turned into a creature of the night.
Suddenly the sweet smell of blood drifted through his nose. Looking down he saw it was someone he was familiar with.
Caroline with whom he shared Extended History and Chemistry class with.
Unable to resist anymore he felt himself start following her.
