Axel:
Tuck and I both applied to a handful of law schools that year. John Gibbons, the lawyer we worked under, sat us down and asked us which school we would be happiest at. Simultaneously, Tuck and I said "Duke."
So when that summer came and ended and all our hometown friends were packing up their belongings and moving into cities for jobs and internships, Tuck and I were packing up and shipping down to North Carolina for law school. We had both gotten in to Duke.
"Aren't you two tired of each other yet?" was the first thing my mother said when we told her we were both going to Duke. Tuck and I just exchanged secret smiles and laughed. I would never tire of Tuck for as long as I lived.
Tucker:
Axel and I both got into Duke for law school. Four more years of schooling was going to be the worst decision we had ever made, but I wouldn't have wanted to do it with anyone else. If you're reading this Ax, which I hope you are, shout out to you. You single-handedly made my life worth living. Thank you for that.
