Harry was sitting at a Wagamama's inside Heathrow airport, having just gotten his bags checked. He took a bite of his sandwich then realised it may be a good idea to pick up a magazine for the flight. Zayn and Louis both had a habit of falling asleep on the plane and Liam was always on Twitter.
Finished with his breakfast, he walked into the small convenience store at the airport. He picked up a copy of OK! and started flipping through on his way up to the cash.
Not paying attention, Harry bumped into a man. He started to apologise and heard a pleasant Yorkshire accent say 'It's alright mate.' Harry looked up and found himself face to face with the sparkling eyes of his bandmate Louis Tomlinson. Harry's heart skipped a beat as Louis gave him a tight hug, the thick muscles under his shirt pressing against Harry, enveloping him tightly. There was nothing but him and the strong Doncaster boy in the world, nothing else mattered. It was only the two men. Harry slowly exhaled as Louis let him go, not realising he had held his breath. The cold air from the outside world rushing around the two, making Harry feel cold where Louis' presence lacked.
'Today, for a second I had worried I'd never see you boys again. I'm just so glad to see your cheeky smile babe.' Louis' soft voice whispered in Harry's ear as he told the story of the near-fatal incident. The simple presence of the stunning Yorkshire boy had Harry's stomach in knots. He was scared he would say something wrong or trip and fall. But this was Louis, right? His bandmate. Nothing more. He couldn't be anything more. Yet Harry felt the gut wrenching feeling he had always gotten around Louis back in the X Factor days.
There had been an undeniable connection between the two. They were very close and Harry often felt the need to just hold the other man in his arms tightly and never let go.
Liam then walked up behind Louis and yelled 'Harry!' breaking Harry and Louis from their silence. Harry hugged Liam and said 'Mate! How are you!'
'I'm good mate, just a little nervous for today.' Harry's words brought down the level of happiness in the group. They realized that no longer would the band be together for happiness. This meeting could potentially be a make it or break it situation.
Nobody knew how Niall would react to everyone coming back together. He had been happy when the band was a whole and the aim of this was to bring back some stability in a world where there had been only uncertainty. But the Irish lad had never been one to take nicely to surprises, especially big ones like the one about to be sprung upon him.
However, he needed the help, and that was the most important part, right? This inner debate had occupied Harry's head every waking minute since he had seen Greg. Niall had known that Harry was worried and something in his voice had seemed to love the care that he had shown. But Harry and Niall had always had a brotherly connection. Almost like Niall was the curly haired boy's younger brother at times. But then, if Harry ever needed someone to turn to, Niall was always there.
So Harry had to be there for Niall. He had never needed him now than that moment.
"Flight number 2507 from Heathrow to Dublin is now Boarding at Gate 12" the pleasant voice said over the loudspeaker. Harry didn't quite catch it but the bright blue of Louis' eyes right in front of his face pulled him from his thoughts.
"Mate, its ours. You ready to do this?" Louis asked, concern obvious in his voice.
"Yeah. I am." And Harry walked towards the gate.
