Chapter 7

Jasmine ran into her room and locked her door. "Hey that's not fair" Brent whined outside her door. Jasmine laughed.
She went over to her bed and got her back pack. She took out her papers of homework she had to do.
"Ugh homework" Jasmine said as she started writing. After about an hour she had finished doing homework and decided to check on Brent.
She quietly opened the door and tip toed to his room. She slowly opened his door. There was no one in his room. "Where could he be?" Jasmine whispered to herself.
Suddenly she felt someone tickling her from behind. "AH STOP IT AH" Jasmine said in between laughs. Brent had attacked her to tickle her.
Once he finally stopped he let her sit up but Jasmine couldn't stop laughing. He laughed with her.
"You should have seen your face" Brent said as Jasmine rolled her eyes.
"Brent! Jasmine! I need to talk to you guys" their mom yelled from downstairs. They both looked at each other confused.
They got up and went downstairs.
"What's up mom?" Brent said. She gestured for both of them to sit down on the couch and they did.
"You guys...your father is in coma" their mother said.
Both Brent and Jasmine's jaws dropped. "What? I thought he was getting better?" Brent said angrily.
"Brent please don't get mad it won't help" Jasmine said calming her brother down.
"Look I know this is hard especially after what happened with Lexi and Brice" their mom said. Jasmine started to cry as she remembered what had happened.
Lexi and Brice were their other siblings. They had died in a car accident a few years ago. Jasmine couldn't bare to lose her father too. "Mom you're not helping" Brent said as he hugged Jasmine.
"Im gonna have to work extra shifts to pay off the bills. I need you guys to be strong ok?" Their mom said.
They both nodded as she hugged them. "My boss called me to go to work right now so be safe and don't stay up too late" their mom said sadly as she got up and left.
Brent and Jasmine sat there speechless. "Brent what are we gonna do?" Jasmine asked break in the silence. Brent just looked down. "Jas I'm gonna try to get a job and help mom out" Brent said.
"What about your videos?" Jasmine asked feeling bad. "I guess they'll have to wait" Brent said as he got up. This could not be happening.
