Chapter 24

She looked over at him and he smiled. She looked away and blushed.
"Um we should get going" Jasmine said. Crawford nodded as they started walking back. "Thanks for the walk it was fun and the sunset was beautiful" Jasmine said. "Yeah..."Crawford said as he stood there awkwardly.
"Well I'll see you at school tomorrow I guess" Jasmine said as she hugged him goodbye.
He smiled and waved at her as he left. She opened the door to her house and went in. She closed it and smiled to herself.
"where have you been?" Her mom said. "Oh my gosh I forgot I'm so sorry mom I was at the park" Jasmine said.
She looked at the time it was 11:00pm. Her mom came at around 10:30 meaning she should have already been in bed.
"It's ok but you're grounded you're not allowed to go out of the house for a week" her mom said. "What? Why?" Jasmine said shocked.
"I don't want anything to happen to you or Brent so it's better if you stay at home when I'm gone" her mom said.
"So you want us to feel like caged birds?" Jasmine said angrily.
"No sweetheart I want you guys to be safe ok? I can't lose any more of you..." Her mom said. Jasmine just stared at her and ran upstairs to her room.
She locked the door and flopped unto her bed. Why did Lexi and Brice ever had to die? Now dads gonna be gone and what will happen to us? Mom will have to work more, Brent might have to quit YouTube to help her, and I'll be barely be able to go out or see them anymore Jasmine thought.
She cried into her pillow for a few hours until she fell asleep.
*The next day*
"Hey Jasmine....wake up"Brent said. He was sitting on her bed. Jasmine sat up and rubbed her eyes.
"I could hear you crying last night...I know it's not fair but moms telling the truth. I don't want to lose another sister too" Brent said tearing up.
Jasmine felt bad and hugged him.
"You're not gonna lose another sister I'll listen to mom I'm sorry" Jasmine said. Brent pulled away.
"It's ok you didn't do anything wrong just get dressed we don't wanna be late" Brent said. Jasmine nodded as he walked out and closed her door.
She got up and went to her closet. She decided to wear her blue TFIOS tank top, black skinny jeans, and a black cardigan. She put on her converse and decided what to do with her hair. She got lazy so she left it down in its natural look.
She got her backpack and phone and went downstairs.
"I made bacon" Brent said proudly. Jasmine laughed.
"You cooked again wow" Jasmine said making him roll his eyes. "Eat fast Chris wants me to pick him and Crawford up" Brent said. Jasmine nodded and ate.
Once she finished she raced him to the car and got in. They drove to the Collins house.
The two boys came out of their house and got into the back.
"Hey Brent hey Jasmine" Chris said. "Hey" Jasmine and Brent said in unison.
*at school*
Brent parked into the parking lot and they all got out. "Hey" Crawford said as he walked next to Jasmine. "Hey" Jasmine said.
She saw that he was wearing glasses. "You wear glasses?" Jasmine asked him.
He laughed a little. "Yeah but not all the time" he said. "They look cute on you" Jasmine said without realizing what she just said.
They both looked away and blushed. "Thanks" Crawford said.
They went to home room.
Jasmine went to sit into her seat when out of nowhere a guy punched Crawford in the face.
