A soft hand on my shoulder made me quickly sit up straight and look around surprised out of my slumber. I looked around, recognizing the map room. It all came back to me, as I remembered coming into the Map room late last night when Ben's pained screams became too much for me. I couldn't sleep any longer so I had decided to try and study the maps more, which was evident by the maps scattered on the table in front of me.

"You're here early..." I spun around in my chair to see Minho looking at me with a calm expression. I exhaled softly. "I just couldn't sleep hearing..." I didn't need to finish when he nodded. "Yeah... I didn't sleep at all." He pulled up a chair next to me and I leaned back in mine. "Newt told me about what happened." I felt my shoulders slump ever so slightly. "Yeah..." I groaned suddenly feeling my wrist start to throb. "You should stay here today." He said and I noticed that he was all ready to go out into the maze.

"Wait, Minho I thought you were sick?" I questioned seeing that he looked completely fine. "Apparently it was only a day thing." He said a casually shrugging his shoulders. "Well that's lucky." I mumbled beginning to roll the maps back up. Finally Minho stood and nudged me softly. "Hey, don't be so hard on yourself today. Things could have gone a lot worse."

I quickly ate all of my breakfast, having not even realized how incredibly hungry I was, after all I hadn't ate last night from being too tired. It felt good to finally have some food in my stomach, made me feel better emotionally as well.

Chuck was with me all morning. He had grown a lot more comfortable around me in the month he had been here. He like a little brother to me, and I found myself protecting him a lot.

"I can't believe you saw a Griever up close!" Chuck exclaimed and I gave him a weak smile. "Yeah... It was pretty crazy." I said trying to sound as non interested as possible. I really didn't want to have this conversation again. "Was it scary?" He asked and I nodded. "Terrifying." My eyes drifted to the now open Maze doors, and a chill ran through my body. "Do you think you'll be able to go back out there?" Chuck asked surprising me. "Of course. There's a way out of here. And I'm not stopping until we've found it." I replied, surprised by my own determination. The prospect of going back out there did scare me, after all we were attacked in the middle of the day, but the need to escape out weighed the fear.

A blaring alarm broke through the silence that had settled between us. "That time already." I mumbled turning towards the box like every other Glader. We had all become accustomed to the sound, signaling the newest addition to the Glade.

I took my time going towards the Box, Chuck on the other hand was pretty excited to longer be the greenie, so he ran ahead. I suppose I just wasn't in the most social of moods. By the time I did get to the Box a large crowd had already formed, only a few more Gladers making their way over. I drifted to the back of the crowd.

"Hey what do you think you're doing?" I turned surprised to find Newt behind me. "Sorry?" I asked blinking in confusion. "I'm not letting you just hang out in the back here." He said and before I could respond he grabbed my arm and started leading me to the front of the group. "Newt..." I started but he quickly interrupted me. "Come on, Nikki. You got to get your mind out of what happened." I rolled my eyes but felt a smile tugging at my lips. "Oh and you think a new greenie will help?" Newt smirked shrugging his shoulders. "Hey you never know."

As if planned, the Box came to a screeching halt. Alby pushed his way to the front to stand next to Newt, who whispered something to him, which I didn't even bother trying to hear. I turned my attention back to where two boys were pulling the doors of the Box open.

The boy inside immediately covered his face with his arm as light flooded into the former darkness of the box. I craned my neck trying to get a better look, similar to the others around me. Whispers and laughs drifted floated about as the boys began to express their first impressions of the newest Glader. I rolled my eyes and looked back at the Box where the greenie slowly pulled his arm away from his face.

As soon as I saw his face, something snapped in the back of my mind. Imagines and sounds flashed in my brain, bright lights, my own screams, faces that I couldn't make out. And then there was one, one that stood out the most, his face. "My name is Thomas."

I gasped snapping back into reality, a throbbing beginning to develop in the back of my head. Newt looked over at me concerned. "You ok?" He asked and I clenched my jaw but nodded looking back at the greenie. My heartbeat had increased dramatically, trying to process what I had just seen. Where had those even come from? I hadn't had any of these weird dream/flashback things in 2 months, and suddenly they're back.

Somebody pulled the boy out who quickly scrambled to his feet and began to turn in a circle taking in his surroundings. I watched him closely, his expression a mix of fear and confusion. Then he suddenly stopped as our eyes locked, and my heart stopped wondering if he somehow recognized me as well. "Looks like the shank fell in love." Some guy said from the back causing others to snicker.

Shaking his head, the greenie kept looking around him. "Welcome to the Glade." Alby said and the boy stopped to face him. "Where am I?" He asked and I shivered his voice identical to what I just heard. Alby gestured around us, "This, is your new home."

I watched as he took shaky breaths, trying to process all that he was told and seen. "Wha..." Before he could continue I interrupted him quickly speaking up. "Do you remember your name?" I asked trying to keep my face expressionless. He turned almost surprised by my question.
"My name is Thomas"
