"Hey dad!"I yelled while Maya said after me
"Sup Matthews."
"Hey girls! You should get washed up and then come eat dinner." He replied
"Yeah dad."
"Uh huh'"
We ran to my room. To get "washed up". Which I would have wanted to do more than have this conversation with Maya. We were sitting at the bay window as usual. Discuss what had happened today which I was not keen on sharing. It was all because of Lucas. She wanted to know why we were staying friends. It's just I can't lose Lucas. If we dated we would end up breaking up because he would either get bored with me or all my issues. Which sometimes I even wish I wasn't here to deal with. Like maybe if I disappeared they would go away. "No. No. Riley don't think like that or it will happen again." I thought to myself. I hadn't realized that I was zoned out cause next thing I know I was being yelled at "EARTH TO SMILEY RILEY!!!" Maya yelled
"Oh yeah. Uh let's just go eat now." I said really quickly and then walked out followed by a confused Maya.
"Finally." my dad said.
"What took you girls so long?" asked my mom.
"Yeah. Riley?" Auggie said trying to be part of the conversation.
"Uh. You know just girl stuff." I said shrugging it off.
After that we just shrugged it of with our usually conversation at dinner. With the occasional concerned glances from Maya. Which I just tried to ignore.
