Chapter 4: the talk

Riley's Pov:
As soon as English was over Lucas and I slowly walked to science. We were lab partners in that class. We were talking about the lab project that's due next Thursday. Until I couldn't take it anymore "Lucas?"
Lucas: "Yeah Riley?"
Riley: "Umm. What did u mean by you saw them?"
Lucas: "We should talk in private about this. Okay?"
Riley: "Ok. Meet me at my bay window by 9?"
Lucas: "Yeah. That works with me."
And with that we were to class and we had a normal day after that.
*end of school day*
Maya and I walked home. She could tell I was worried about something. I just really needed to get out of my school clothes and then see him, but I also know Maya needs me. So I had that on my plate. So when I got home Maya and I went to room and she asked me "Riles. Is there something wrong."
Riley: "No. Peaches. I'm just a little tired today."
Maya: "oh. okay" she said ,but like she didn't exactly believe me.
After that I left the room and she followed me as we entered the kitchen.
Topanga: "Hey girls. Are you hungry yet?"
Riley: "A little. "
Maya: "I always am. "
Topanga: "Good I made spaghetti and meatballs. "
So we all sat down for dinner and we found out that Dad and Auggie were having a "guys night". Whatever that is. I hurriedly finished half of my spaghetti. I was then almost full by that. I then got asked "Riley. Are you already full?"
Riley: "Oh. Yeah. I ate a lot at lunch." Even though I knew it was a slight lie and Maya did too so she gave me a sort of look.
Topanga: "Ok. Then go put your leftovers away and wash your dish."
I did as I was told. And then sat back down and carried on till everyone was done. Maya left and I went into my room to change into comfier clothes. I put on grey sweatpants and a really comfy short sleeves top and put some socks on. After that I got myself some coffee. I waited for him after that.
Lucas' Pov:
I walked as quietly as possible, so not to get Riley in trouble or yelled at myself. I slightly knocked on the window. She quietly said "Come in."
Lucas: "Hey Riles"
Riley: "hey. So let's sit down."
Lucas: "Yeah. Riley I don't wanna put this off any longer. "
Riley: " Did you actually see them last night?"
Lucas: "Yeah." I saw her change from happy to depressed in a second.
Riley: "I'm so sorry."
Lucas: "Just promise me you'll never ever do this again. No matter what."
Riley: "I don't know. " she said as tears start falling from her beautiful brown eyes. I couldn't think of any other way to stop her, so I kissed her. She didn't pull back immediately. After a little she pulled back and said "Why did you do that."
Lucas: "Because I can't handle seeing you cry and I also want us to be more than friends."
Riley: "But I'm afraid we'll end up breaking up and then hate each other. Do you want that?"
Lucas: "Riley. I could never ever hate you not in a million years."
Riley just kissed me in that moment. I then said "What was that for?"
Riley: "For being you."
Lucas: "So can we actually date yet?"
Riley: "Yes, but I don't everyone to know yet only Maya and our parents."
Lucas:"I can't tell Zay or Farkle."
Riley:" Well we can tell them, but no one else."
Lucas:"Ok."
After that we just talked some more until I left.
