Warning for brief mentions of suicide.

She should've expected this. She knew that she moved so often, and she knew she would regret becoming close with people. Resu wished she could just go back in time and erase the time she spent with everyone. It didn't mean anything to her anymore.

But as much as she told herself that, the tears wouldn't stop flowing.

Boxes of her things sat unopened in front of her closet. Why should she bother unpacking? They were just going to move again in a few months. What was the point?

She spent her days locked up in her room, barely eating and staring blankly at the white walls of her room. It was much larger than her old room but it felt cramped, for some reason.

In the back of her mind, a voice screamed at her to get over this and move on. It had already been three weeks since she had left Japan yet she couldn't help but drift back to the memories she had left at Karasuno.

Why was this affecting her so much? She had moved so many times before but it never had caused her so much pain. Was it because it was so far away? Or was it because she didn't even have a chance to say goodbye?

Resu curled into herself under her blankets, exhaling shakily. She had managed to leave a letter with the vice principal for the team, but God knows if they even got it. It wasn't like it mattered anyways. They would forget about her in a month, tops. Hell, they probably already did. A forlorn smile crossed her face as her fingernails dug into her palms, another quiet sob escaping from her body.

-----

Even after several attempts of calling Resu, she still didn't answer. She didn't respond to their texts or emails, and they were beginning to get worried. She didn't show up to school.

Hinata walked by her house to find it empty and up for sale.

"I can't believe she moved and didn't even tell us," Tanaka growled, an edge of bitterness in his voice. Asahi was silent. Nishinoya's hands tightened on the volleyball he was holding.

The doors slammed open and the three jumped, as if they expected to see Resu standing there, grinning. But no, it was Takeda-sensei, holding a folded piece of paper and frowning.

"I think...you guys should read this," he said, almost hesitantly. He handed it to Daichi as the rest of the team crowded in curiosity. The captain unfolded it and began reading the scrawly, rushed handwriting.

"Hey guys! By the time you're reading this (if you ever do) I'll be in a different country. I'm really sorry I missed the match with Aoba Johsai - my siblings pulled me out during the second set - but I hoped you guys kicked Oikawa's ass!

I'm also sorry that I had to write this sucky letter instead of saying goodbye in person. My brother said we had to leave immediately because my sister and him could both get really good paying jobs! Isn't that great?

...

I'm sorry for wasting your time.

Thank you for being nice to someone like myself.

Please forget about me.

Sincerely," she had written 'your friend' but it had been crossed out, "Resu."

They weren't sure what to do with the letter after that.

Hitomi entered her home, pulling off her heels with a sigh. She noticed the sink and trash bin were still empty, meaning that Resu had once again skipped eating. The older girl frowned, knocking lightly on her younger sister's door.
