"It's too hoooot," Resu complained as she fanned herself, sweat dripping down her forehead. Yachi gave her a sympathetic half-smile before averting her focus back to the practice game in front of them.

The second year wiped the sweat off her face and straightened her back against the wall. She studied Hinata and Kageyama, who had still yet to make up. Her sisterly instincts urged her to help them get back in sync but she knew that it would be better if they worked it out themselves. She took a large swig of water before leaning to the side to dodge the boys as they exited the gym for their penalty runs.

As far as she knew, they hadn't won any games yet. This only fueled their desire to improve, but it also caused Resu to feel a little worried. She hoped they wouldn't strain themselves too much.

Another thing she noticed was that while everyone was striving to advance, Tsukishima was the only one who seemed not to care. It didn't really surprise her, though; the glasses-wearing first year was always apathetic about everything and it made sense that he was the same when concerning the club. Resu's eyebrows furrowed together. If he didn't start taking the club seriously, it wouldn't be long before the team surpassed him as a whole.

She folded one leg over the other and leaned back on her palms. Everyone, even the other teams, were working so hard...

Resu frowned as her nails scraped against the gym floors. She was supposed to be sort of a manager, right? What should she be doing instead of sitting on the floor, bored out of her mind? With a sigh, she tilted her head back and glared at the ceiling. It made her anxious, not knowing what to do.

"Hey!!"

A loud, semi-obnoxious voice broke her out of her thoughts. Her eyes, now narrowed in slight annoyance, dropped down to the boy in front of her. He had wild black and white hair and was crouched in front of her, watching her with wide, curious eyes. The teams must have been taking a short break and the boy just decided to bother her. Resu grimaced.

"You're Resu, right? Kuroo told me about you!" She turned her head to glare at said Nekoma captain, who was leering at her. "I'm Bokuto!" The boy continued with a grin. "I'm the captain and ace of Fukurodani!"

"That's nice."

"Bokuto-san," a black-haired boy with tired eyes watched them with a neutral expression. "I think you're bothering her."

"Am I?" Bokuto moved his sharp gaze back to Resu with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, sorry! When Kuroo told me about you I had to meet you! You beat people up, right?"

Resu clicked her tongue and sighed heavily, dragging her hands over her face.

"Yeah."

"Woah!! That's crazy!"

She looked up at him with the most uninterested stare she could muster, but he just kept going.

"By the way, this is our setter, Akaashi!"

"Nice to meet you," the black-haired boy greeted, dipping his head politely. "I apologize for him in advance - he can be a handful when meeting new people."

"It's fine," Resu said, waving a hand dismissively. "Sorry if I came off as rude," she continued, turning back to Bokuto. "You were saying?"

The boy kept rambling off things to her as she agreed to listen. Some of the things he spoke of she really didn't understand but Akaashi sometimes joined in to offer an explanation. They seemed nice enough (with Bokuto being a little loud and overly dramatic) and they were tolerable. But that wouldn't stop her from approaching Kuroo later to see exactly what his words were to the ace.

She made a noise of acknowledgement as the boys returned from their penalty run so the teams could continue their practices. They would be taking a break for lunch soon so she stood to follow Shimizu and Yachi so they could start filling water bottles. The three chatted aimlessly as the faucets turned on.
